Ideal for architects, designers, decorators, artists and teachers. For building architectural models, prototypes as well as classic model railroad, plane and boat items. The large table with (15) 11/32-inch x 11-inch (390 x 280 mm) ensures smooth and easy movement of the work piece. The printed grid and protractor assist with division and cutting. The solid aluminum overarm has a 13 3/4-inch (350 mm) throat and offers 5 1/2-inch (140 mm) in height. The holder and wire coil (one spool of wire 98 ft., 0.008-inch Dia is included) may be shifted and adjusted along the overarm to enable mitre cutting. An LED indicates operation and thus reminds you not to touch the hot wire to prevent burnt fingers (the wire heats to maximum in less than 1 second). Technical data: Cutting wire temperature 210-390F (100-200C) 10V At 1 A, 110-120V AC, 60 Hz. Weight 6.6 lbs.

Sure you can make your own, from a YouTube video; but for the cost, my time is worth more. Very minimal setup required. Only negative point, the gate is a little flimsy. Attachments available from a website call shifting lands. I opted to make my own.

It was the best price by far. I chose the option to pick up in store and was pleasantly surprised how friendly everyone was. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and when I asked where to pick up my order was escorted right to the desk. The gentleman that retrieved my box was super friendly as well. A wonderful experience overall and a great product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stock fence is useless the thin plastic gauge on the fence that comes with this is flexible enough that the slightest pressure will throw off your cut and there are no surfaces under the sides to get a clamp down. if you plan on making straight cuts you will have to buy the TA300 fence proxxon sells for another $100+, though I haven't tested it myself.

It has to be held down manually while feeding the foam through the wire. That being said it save a tone of time when you're trying to cut big pieces fast, or pre-measured pieces. Im glad I bought it, but it could be refined.
