The Home Depot Canada receives 16th ENERGY STAR® Canada Award
June 4, 2024 - The Home Depot Canada, the country’s largest home improvement retailer has been named the ENERGY STAR Canada National Retailer of the Year for the sixteenth time. The company is dedicated to environmental and social governance (ESG) and offers over 13,000 Eco Option products, 5,000 of which are ENERGY STAR certified, in its 182 stores across Canada, both in-store and online.

Key 2023 accomplishments include:
- The Home Services team attended the Toronto Fall Home Show to promote the Canada Greener Homes Grant program, which requires the installation of ENERGY STAR certified products in many categories to qualify for the grant.
- Coordinated with Enbridge Gas to promote an event related the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus program, which features many ENERGY STAR certified products.
- Partnered with BC Hydro, FortisBC, SaskPower, Efficiency Manitoba, Enbridge Gas, efficiencyPEI, Efficiency Nova Scotia, and takeCHARGE Newfoundland to offer instant rebates to customers on ENERGY STAR certified products. These partnerships resulted in offering customers >$4 million in savings on energy efficient products.
- Drove $346 million in sales of ENERGY STAR certified products online and in stores, helping Canadians save energy and make better choices when considering energy efficient upgrades to their homes.
