Rated 4 out of 5 by from New sink I had to replace this same sink from the original 70's house, as it had rusted out. I replaced it with this sink which looks fine. It has a rubber seal, so it is self sealing, all around it. The seal doesn't look very attractive. It also was somewhat hard to install as the clamps had changed since the 1970's. It seems to get dirty very quickly, and I have noticed that I am having to clean it on a daily basis. As I was replacing a bone sink, I was disappointed that this didn't come in that colour - which is strange when it is a 70's shape....

My parents have this exact same sink since the 90's, so I assumed it would last me for 20 years at least. 2 years in, the edge of the emergency drain is rusting, and also rust appeared around the center drain. It now looks like its 30 years old!! Sinks should not last 2 years only! After research, many people are having issue with poor quality as the manufacture is now in mexico. American Standard is no longer the quality it used to be. Maybe go for something that is made in USA or Canada...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shoddy quality - drain area repeatedly rusts out We've had to replace this same model of sink several times in both our 2 bathrooms now (2 sinks in one rm, 1 in the other) because the area around the drain keeps rusting out even though we never use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on or in them. The true cost has been so much more expensive than the initial purchase price - because we'd either have to replace the whole countertops (and repaint, etc. around them) to allow for the installation of a different model's outline and dimensions, or keep buying this same shoddy model and pay multiple times for help with the installation. The last replacement had to be a special order, and only lasted about 6 years. Not what we expect from a major company like American Standard.

The Yorkdale sinks seems to be discontinued and I was wondering what sink would be compatible and would best replace this bathroom sink?

Hello Carola, Yes, this sink has been discontinued. As each sink has it's own nuances and specifications, there is no 'direct replacement' for this sink unfortunately. You would just need to look through the product offering to see which style you like and which model will best suite your needs.

how to install an offset p trap to a non threaded wall drain

What plumbing parts will I need to install a p trap that is offset from the wall drain. The wall drain has a 1&1/2 inch 45 degree, non threaded elbow. See pictures added. Thanks

How on earth do you get the neoprene seal to stay on the sink - spent an hour trying to get it to stay in place - should I heat the seal in water to get it to stretch???
