Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality I bought this kit this morning It is now 6PM and I have great tasting water and a hopper of Ice cubes. To those that say they had bad tasting water did you run water through the hose before you connected it to the fridge? I ran 40 gallons through mine before I connected it to my fridge then ran another 5 gallons through my water filter to make sure there was no gray charcoal dust left. You are also supposed to dump the first 3 batches of Ice out to make sure your ice will be pure. The push connect fittings are great make sure you deburr the ends and mark the pipes to make sure you insert 1 inch deep on each side.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product Not usually a big fan of 'shark bite' type fittings, I'm old school paste & solder type of guy, but this worked very well and was much quicker. Shark bites have been around long enough to prove themselves so hoping that the install will stand the test of time. No muss, no fuss, and no leaks, so very happy with the product and the braided line is much more durable than plastic tubing. The built in shut-off valve on the shark bite fitting is plus and works well.

Can anyone tell me if this tubing adds a bad taste to your water?

Yesssss! the moment my plumber switched the prior tube to this one, the taste went absolutely terrible. In fact, we noticed that if you collect water in a glass (with an intention to drink) but let the water stay in the glass for 15-20 minutes, there are some very fine particles that accumulate at the bottom of the glass. On closer look, them seem to be metallic, though not very sure. At the same time, if you collect the water from the original tap (that feeds into this pipe kit), the water remains 100% natural taste and no collection of fine particles is seen in the glass. I looked up online and found that some other users too noticed significant terrible taste of water after installing this kit. We initially thought may be the kit is new, so if we let some large quantity of water run though, it will resolve. IT DID NOT. Also, the taste of ice that uses the water through the pipe is simiarly unworthy. Due to Covid-driven lockdown for an year, we have not been able to get a plumber into our house. and hence entire refrigerator's water / ice dispensing mechanism has been rendered useless.
