This powerful Brush Master Chipper Shredder has an 11-HP(279cc) commercial duty engine. It features a 2-way feed including an oversized funnel for leaves, an ATV or lawn and garden trailer hitch, and a chip collection bag. The chipper shredder self-feeds and chips branches up to 3 inches in diameter, turning yard waste into useful 1/4-inch mulch. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brush Master 11HP Chipper This item arrived on a pallet and well packaged. It was easy to assemble, fill with oil (included) and gas. I wheeled it out to the garden and adjusted the discharge chute. It started on the second pull with no choke. I ran it for nearly 4 hours and fed it everything from dry cedar to green birch limbs, garden waste and leaves. Never bogged down and ran like a champ. Ran it out of fuel but was done for the day. Second use filled it up and it started with the choke on first pull! Very hardy platform. Blade and hammers are thick, construction of the unit overall is very sturdy. I like the draw bar and pneumatic tires. They make it easy to either move or tow. I have not tried the collection bag but it looks good enough to me. I highly recommend this chipper. It has a lot of high end features (high horsepower engine, air filled tires, belt driven, and seperate hammers and cutting blades. Well painted and well engineered.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from brushmaster the brush master performed exactly as we had hoped. perfect size chips for the garden. we fed cabbage leaves, flower stems, and large amount of comfrey leaves through the top shoot and tree branches up to 2" through the side. it actually works best to feed some branches at the same time as the softer materials. there is a warning on the machine not to feed branches through the top shoot and if you have to push down the softer materials, then only use a wooden stick no thicker than a little finger. if you feed large 2" branches through the side, I would recommend to cut them into 3' length, it seams the machine otherwise starts to labour to hard and slows down. my wife is not very strong but was able to start the machine easily by herself. we used the chipper 4 hours straight the first day with no problems whatsoever. great product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far it works well. I was a bit concerned about the exit grate. I thought it would get plugged when damp leaves were shredded and it did. I removed the grate and have a concern it may be difficult to reinsert - extremly tight connection. The machine simply shoots the shredded material 10 to 15 feet out from the machine - no real problem. It does a good job though. Starts easy, fairly easy to transport. I have not hooked it up to my tractor yet. I have moved it by hand. I have not chipped yet, but I know it will do a good job. I was initially advised that it would take 10 to 14 days to receive the machine, but it was delivered within a week. I am satisfied with my purchase. My first purchase were I have not physically inpected the product before I purchased it.

A real help to reduce the slugging and hauling of smaller branches and yard debris for someone that is "age" challenged like me. For my 1/2 acre lot it's just the right machine. Very well made.

What damage would this unit incur if inadvertently, it gets fed a small stone, nail, and/or some soil/sand?

All materials to be fed into the Chipper Shredder should be thorougly inspected for foreign objects including metal, rocks, bottles, cans, etc. In the unlikely event that the impeller strikes a foreign object or the engine starts to vibrate, immediately turn the engine off. Allow the engine to come to a complete stop and remove the spark plug wire. Remove any debris and inspect for damage or loose parts before restarting. Is this a conical screw chipper?

i looked at he web site and it appeared that the laimet chipper is a commercial unit that must cost a lot more than the brush master. the chips the laimet produces are a lot larger than the brush master chips. the brush master has a horizontal axle with the blades attached that swirl around. it chips perfect for garden debris and branches up to 2'. we use the chips to mulch the whole garden.
