My brother had recommended this to me as he said it was probably the best thing he's ever put in his house. He was right! So handy for us particularly as my mother now lives with us and it's like having an extra hand holding the door open when she is using a walker. Brilliant!

Do this product comes with double side adhesive if we don't want to have permanent installation?

No it does not come with adhesive tape. If you want to remove it one can easily fill the holes made by the attaching screws. It is a great product. The magnet is strong and holds the door in open position very well. Great for those doors that always swing closed by themselves.

where do these get mounted? I assume one piece on the door but does the other piece get mounted on the floor or on the wall/baseboard? It looks like it would go on the floor but want to double check.

It can be mounted either way as on the larger piece, the magnetic portion wraps all the way around the ball. That being said, in order to 'floor mount' it, it would require the large end mounted to the floor which could be concern for stubbing toes.
