However the design means that contact with the root is limited to a bit over an inch below the surface, so not effective with large weeds. It's also difficult to push into hard ground compared to some other designs. Would work well on an established lawn to remove the few weeds that pop up. For more challenging situations, I prefer the style that looks like a screwdriver with a split tip.

I have sprayed every chemical in my day and the best way to get rid of them is on your knees with this tool. Get the kneepad in the kit which is usually on sale with a trowel and other tool. We have two of them for those quality family times.
