Quite a chore to install, mount has to be removed from device, involves needle-nose pliers, lots of patience, and a steady hand to re-mount. Trust me, try not to drop the nut. After 2 days of rain, both motion sensors full of water. Moisture also in on/off switch plastic cover and the plug-in from the sensor is starting to rust. One light has stopped working altogether, we'll see what happens if/when it dries out - not holding out much hope. Think, if both lights continue to work, I may have to wrap in cling wrap or something like it to keep the rain out. Not overly bright, recommend install close to the ground. The Home Depot price is about twice that of other sites. Overall, very disappointed. More time and effort than the product is worth.

For a few years, I'd been wanting to install a motion-activated security light over the back deck, but having to route power to the exterior location always held me back. Finally came across this product and decided to give it a try. Installed it in December (3 months ago), and installation was fairly straightforward, although instructions are limited. I like the fact that the solar panel is separate and can be mounted quite a few feet away from the light, to optimize the panel location. I've been impressed that it has worked so well throughout the cold winter, when reduced sunlight and cold tend to reduce solar charger efficiency, even though panel is mounted on a wall that faces west (not south). Light is super bright and motion detection works very well with a few initial adjustments. Even a small amount of motion (hello, raccoons and rabbits) activates light. Overall, it "just works", and even my wife has been impressed with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fusion Solar Motion Activated Security Light I saw this light in their warehouse and boy does it ever light up....extremely bright and can see out about 30 feet. Of course with this price tag it better be bright! If you need a bright motion detect light this is your light.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well, bit pricey. Works well, very bright. Instructions included say nothing about the motion detection or the 3 adjustable settings, but easy enough to figure out. So far seems to charge well in the late fall sunlight. Motion detect is very sensitive when cranked up. Wish I'd seen the other $49.00 unit, but am happy with it so far.

on / off switch ?

Can I turn it on and off manually, ocerriding the motion sensor ? Want to use it in my garage to work on my cars when dark ! CHEERS ! WITT !

Nope, no on/off switch. It does have configurable motion sensitivity and activation duration, but overall this is not intended to be an always-on flood light, so if you try to use it as such, it will keep turning on and off on you. It's over my back porch, and I use it sometimes for illumination when barbecuing, but I do have to make more motion than usual to keep it on, and/or wave at it when it turns off to activate it again.

Does the light stays on all the time when it detects motion. (I need it for a cottage that do not have lights and would need to use it at nights)

Since the item is a security light, it is designed to come on once it detects motion. The security light naturally cannot stay on indefinitely, but there are 3 different Control dials which control the light’s duration, sensitivity to light and sensitivity to motion. The TIME Adjusting dial sets the duration of illumination time. The TIME is adjustable from 8 seconds to 2 minutes.

why it does not come on?

All of a sudden light does not come on... twice when it came on it stayed on longer then programmed, then, not at all??

Before the Solar Motion Light can operate to its full capacity, the Solar Panel needs to be in sunlight for 3 days to fully charge the included battery. Charging should be done with the unit in the “OFF” position. After a complete charge as noted above, we suggest setting the LUX control switch to the minimum setting, and the SENSITIVITY control the mid setting (normal setting).
