This compact, dwarf evergreen shrub has a unique flat crown that resembles a bird's nest, hence its name. Birds Nest Spruce produces bright lime-green new growth in spring. It prefers a sunny location but it can tolerate partial sun. They make a unique, low ground cover and grows to be about 2 feet tall with a spread of 5 feet. For best growth, the soil should be moist with proper drainage. A great candidate for borders, rock gardens, or foundation plantings.
