Although I loaded the machine according to their recommendations, I find that the automatic wash & dry program does not dry adequately. However when I load the machine fully, set it to wash only, and then choose either the Auto Dry or the Auto Extra Dry, it works well, and the washed articles come out dry. I am very impressed with how quiet it is, both wash/spin and drying cycles. In my opinion, if you want to use it the way you used your old two unit set, this device is not for you. It's a different technology and once I adjusted to it, the unit works very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing combounit for small spaces! I bought this wonder machine in the early spring and I'm in love! If you have limited space this is the machine for you. The washer is superb and the dryer is nothing short of a miracle. There's a little bit of a learning curve with the dryer as it is not the type of dry we're used to from standard hot air dryers. Clothes can feel damp coming out but literally within 5 minutes feel completely dry. Living in a century home with limited space for laundry, I will never go back to the old type of washer/dryer combos. Mine lives nicely tucked under a kitchen counter and doesn't even need typical dryer venting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t waste time or money on GE Bought in May of 2023 to replace Haier machine that stopped working after close to five years. This machine was great out of the box. As time went on it began drying less and less (problem began early 2024) and taking more time to.dry less things. Contacted GE and they have sent two repair companies who look at the machine watch it run and say it’s working fine. Dryer is not drying at all can put in one wet sock and 8 hours of drying still wet. GE continues to not contact us with a solution. GE has not even responded to the BBB complaint I have filed to have the machine fixed or replaced. Being going on now for months. Don’t waste your hard earned money or time on GE products.

The drum seized with light use for only 13 months. I have called Home Depot and chatted and because it is not under warranty, they are unconcerned about a unit that is built to last just over a year. This will not be my go-to place for appliances any longer.

The design of the pump filter on washer, which you are supposed to drain monthly is terrible. It sits at base of machine so it is impossible to put a receptacle beneath to catch the water, as instructions tell you to do. So water ends up all over floor, and beneath machine where it is impossible to mop it up. This is a very poorly designed product. Do not buy it.

Initial quality is assessed as good. Installation was moderately easy when installation instructions are followed. I have observed no minor/major defects on this unit so far. Long term quality (reliability) is to be determined. Given the initial quality assessments, I predict that the long term quality will likely be assessed at average or good. In conclusion, I recommend this product for good value and initial quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do Not Buy - Has Design Defect Do Not Buy - Has Design Defect. Worked great until one month after warranty expired. At that point it started intermittently adding water during the dry cycle. This is a common problem and GE does not know what causes it or will not say. Ignore all the great reviews, and instead, sort them from lowest to highest and you will see this is a common problem. One reviewer reported they threw the washer out. I'm in the same boat. $2000 gone. The sad thing is, it's an otherwise great machine but it cannot be repaired. Many reviewers have stated multiple visits from the repairman does not fix it. You were warned. You'll love it at first until you find out that GE will not help you or tell you what is wrong so that you can fix it. Ours was run for its entire life on a high quality surge suppressor. Sadly, it's going to be thrown out, along with the $2,000 it cost in total.

It worked ok for small loads for a few months, now were down to half that and four or five hours. You would be able to wash one sheet at a time.

Can this plug into a 110v receptacle? Or are 220 v required ?

It is a 110 volt plug I wouldn’t buy it again though. Worked ok for a few months. Now we have to cut the loads in half(2 pairs of pants for example)and it still takes four or five hours.

Is it possible to use only the dryer function on this unit? I already have a washer which works quite well. I need a 120V dryer and have had trouble finding one unless it is a washer/dryer combo.

Hi Kerri, Thank you for reaching out again. Cool water is pumped in, then the moisture is drained out to the washer drain pump. Hot moist air comes in, expelling the warm dry air out through the heater. -Thank you.
