It seems that no one can give me the answer? Can some experts tell me that I have two cartridges in my system, 1. HCGDUF4 & HCGDUF5 but which cartridge filters the particles and which cartridge filters smell ????? I know they all filter the water....

I believe that the filter #1(A) filters the particles and the filter #2(B) deals with the smell since there is charcoal core in it.

US model HDGDUS4 and Canadian model HCGDUS5 use the model HDGDUF4 and HCGDUF5 filters, respectively. Both cartridges contain activated carbon to remove sediment particles and chlorine taste & odor.

These filters fit the Advanced Drinking Water Filtration System model HCGDUS5 and are not compatible with the HCGROS5 reverse osmosis system. Your HCGROS5 instead uses the HCGROF5 replacement filters and HCGROM5 membrane cartridge.
