Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most durable tote I’ve ever used +best lids Lid always locks on and stays on Makes for perfect stacking I regularly leave these outside Edmonton alberta weather I use them to haul metal recycle for past 2 years - 100lbs + easy in very cold weather Occasionally they fill with ice so I turn them upside down and thrown them onto the concrete to clear them out and have yet to have them break (forget to put lid on) The lids are slightly more fragile but I’ve done the same without issues. And I’ve really had to pull to get them to open after being frozen together and they still did not break - awesome tote. Glad the price is reasonable

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Jellied substance? I have a concern and don’t know where to ask for info since there’s no number where to call. I bought ten of those and they were stacked outside for a couple of weeks. Today I was about to use them. Turns out there’s a jellied clear substance that has formed on the inner surfaces and some water. I thought they were waterproof. So is this a cellulose residue that jellied from condensation or some mold slime similar to what you get on pvc furnace pipes? Also I was going to store lots of paper books and such in these in an outdoor shed. Now if this material condensate it might become a problem. Any guidance?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lids shatter and cannot be bought separately. These totes are integral to our Disaster Response operations. I have 24 of the 102L totes that we use on a regular basis. My biggest complaint about these totes is that the plastic lids become very brittle in the cold and tend to crack and shatter. Since one cannot buy the lids separately, we have to buy a whole new tote every time we break a lid. The second issue I have with these totes is that HD chooses only to buy the black totes with yellow lids. It would be nice to be able to buy other colours of lids. This would make it easier to organize storage. Other retailers who sell the exact same totes sell with different colour lids, so why can HD?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Another manufacturer change Bought 7 of these in July then another 8 a couple weeks later. They seem to be made to completely different specs, probably by different suppliers. Both are imported by GSC and are different sizes and incompatible to stack. Older box was wider, shorter, and had stronger construction. Lid on the old one snapped quite a bit better. Newer box is taller, has weird plastic nobs sticking up in the bottom of the box. Very frustrating. Went to 6 different home depots trying to find the old ones but couldn't. Both revisions had same SKU, same sticker, same specs, even though the new one is obviously different size than the old one. New boxes are still better than the rubbermaid's even their heavy duty bins, but the previous revision of this product was vastly superior.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from These boxes are awesome for the price but! These boxes are awesome for the price but! We purchased a bunch of these for a move and for storage after the move. They are well made and super handy to have around. We have bought some on multiple occasions but for whatever reason the last bunch we bought had terrible off gassing. They are still off gassing when you put the lid on them the smell will make you take a step back. Think Cigars and mop water. It's mush less now but still strong enough that I wouldnt want to put anything in it for long term that might absorb the smell. since we have picked up some without this issue they get a 4 star if they all had this issue a 3 star max

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Jelly like substance on surface when wet We bought these for use in our facility. We discovered a jelly like substance all over the surface when washing them. The substance swells when wet. When it dries it becomes very sticky. It's been described 'like the stuff in diapers'. Amazing totes except for this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lock nicely together Pros: Totes are strong. Lids snap on securely (but not water/air tight). Totes lock together when stacked, which was great for inside a moving van. Cons: Lids are brittle, I found several cracked in the pile. Totes came with oil on inside and underneath, likely from the manufacturing process. We had to clean them with soap before use. All in all, good purchase on sale if you're careful picking through the pile

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great if you move a lot I used the 102L tote boxes for my moves. Since I move once a year for work, having the totes are super handy and easy for me to un/pack, stack (tried up to 5 vertically with pretty heavy stuff), and transport. When they’re empty I’m able to stack them up to save space. If there was one thing I have an issue is that they’re pretty heavy, but I think it wouldn’t be durable otherwise so still a great product.

Are these strong enough to be loaded with soil? I'd buy three to carry half a yard of soil bought in bulk.

how high can i safely stack these tote bins?

Asked by: Nick
This would likely depend on the weight rating of the lid, which I don’t know.  You should check with manufacturer.  I have them stacked 2 high on shelves, with light to medium weight content.

Is the plastic food grade? We wanted to store our dog's food in one but needed to make sure. Thanks in advance, Jack

Asked by: Jack
The following is my opinion. Polypropylene (PP) is the safest plastic of all as it is resistant to chemical leaching and is the only plastic that does not release chemicals into sea water. It cannot be dyed, so colour pigments have to be mixed in when it is in liquid state. The pigments are insoluble (otherwise they would't be pigments). The safest pigment is black as it has good resistance to solvents and excellent heat and chemical stability. The only colours I use for food or garden vegatables are natural PP (clear or slightly opaque is not coloured), white (HDPE natural colour) or black PP. A lot of planters are green, but you don't eat flowers. Do not use green coloured plastic for food or vegetables -EVER ! I use these containers for carrots, a lot of people use them for potatoes. Do some research, then decide...

Has anyone used this storage box in the outdoors? I'm looking for a storage bin that I could leave out on the deck for storage of bbq items.

Asked by: MikeyJ
This 102L Strong Box can definitely be used in the outdoors under normal conditions. However, please note that this tote is not advertised as «water tight».

Would a 6.7 foot Christmas tree fit in this?

Asked by: Vera
Hi, Thank you for your question. The Vendor have confirmed that, Since the tote is only 29" long, it would not fit a 6.7 ft Christmas Tree.
