Rated 2 out of 5 by from Splinters See pic Works well in a straight line; that is, inserting at chimney cap orifice and thrusting down to fireplace. However, getting older and being on a high ladder is dicey. Should be able to clean by inserting into fireplace and working up to chimney cap. First pass was okay. The second pass, the fibreglass rod split. Shouldn't do that. Next year I will have to shell out for a 3 piece rod set when I only need to replace one. Shouldn't splinter like that.

Are these rods in 1/4 NPT and do they come 3 rods per package?

The rods are with a 3/8-18 NPSM thread which is about 15mm diameter with 18 threads per inch. the outside diameter of the junction is about 3/4"

How many do I need to clean a 15 ft chimney? Will it fit on the 6 inch Imperial brush?
