Aluminum sleeves are designed for forming an eye or loop on wire rope. Aluminum cable stops are designed to prevent movement of wire rope beyond a certain point. Sleeves and stops are made of aluminum so that they are soft enough to be crimped but still provide ample strength and corrosion resistance. When properly applied, aluminum sleeves develop the same breaking strength as the cable onto which they are crimped. If used on PVC-coated cable, remove the coating from the assembly area before swaging. Sleeves and stops can be fastened using the appropriate sized crimping and swaging tool.
