Rated 1 out of 5 by from IT MELTS/DISSOLES THE SM FOAM BOARDS !!! I thought this is especially designed for foam boards as advertised, well..it is not. I glued SM insulation panels onto my garage doors and this adhesive melted/dissolved the boards where the glue was applied, see pictures. Very disappointing. I would have made a big case with Home Depot and the LePage manufacturer but unfortunately I cant find the bill and I cannot prove what I used was indeed this PL300. Be aware and do not buy this for this reason !

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bonds well, but not easy to work with. This stuff bonds really well and because it is thick, it is good for imperfect surfaces such as concrete. I gave it only 3 stars though because it is horrible to work with. It is really thick and sticky, so using it with a caulking gun is frustrating. It does not lay very smoothly. It also runs out a lot faster than I was expecting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from simple put it on the board, put the board up, lean something up against it for 24 hours, done. makes insulating easy

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Garage foam board ceiling use I recommend putting it on the board before affixing it to the surface (in my case the ceiling joists) rather than placing the adhesive in the joists which was more difficult to apply. More is better and it does require something to keep the board firmly placed while it dries (at least 24 hrs)

Hi. Would this work to bond a delamination (split) along the top of a garage door? It's foam-insulated steel garage door. Similar to the coldpay models sold here.

Asked by: KingCreole
Yes PL 300 will work for this.  I found that applying it in several “globs”, pressing it against the layer to be glued to, pull away for one second to give it air then push it back works quite well.

On the Home Depot website, it's for interior and exterior use, but on the product label, it recommended exterior application. Is this can be used inside of the house?

Asked by: Silence
I never cam across that statement but I’d say yes, it’ can and is meant for use inside of a house - I used it for the walls and bench in a shower.

Will this apply to steel? Or fibreglass?, I’m looking to insulate the interior of a commercial van with a Fiberglass top.

Asked by: Thedude
Thank you for the question. The LePage PL 300 Foamboard Adhesive is a solvent based product. It will bond to steel and rigid fiberglass. However, based on the project description, the PL 300 adhesive may not be well suited for insulating inside a commercial van. Keep in mind the service temperature of the cure product is only 60°C (140°F). If temperature at the glue line reaches this range due to solar impact on metal, then the adhesive will begin to fail (soften and loose adhesion). You may want to consider a higher temperature rated, at least 121°C (250°F), product such as a “neutral” cure silicone. If you need assistance, please reach out to our technical team at 1-800-624-7767 and ask to talk with an application specialist.

Is there a compelling reason to use PL 300 instead of PL Premium? PL Premium works with foam, and is less expensive. I used the PL 300 for attaching foam to wood and foam to foam last year, and it failed on some of the foam to wood joints.

Asked by: DLVE
Thank you for the question. There is no reason. The PL 300 is the original solvent-based product that existed long before PL Premium; and since VOC regulations are in play today the cost of these solvent based products is increasing s demand decreases. The PL Premium is not a solvent based product. It is a stronger adhesive, more forgiving than solvents and has become more popular to use today than it was years ago. Bonding foam to wood does require proper use of the adhesive otherwise a failure could occur. There are many variables and conditions than could be probable causes for failure but not knowing the details of a project makes it difficult to know what might have gone wrong.
