Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage doors Complete overpriced garbage. I’ve installed dozens of doors over the years and these are the worst to have come across. I was in a pinch so I bought these because I couldn’t wait 4 wks for my local window/door supplier to get some for me. The supplier’s doors had quality finger jointed pine jambs /frames and door stops for $164 per door instead of $250. The Home Depot doors have door stops that are mdf crap and super glued to the frame meaning they can’t be easily removed for installation or adjustment without literally chiseling them off. I have huge regret buying these pieces of crap!!! Total waste of time!!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Workmanship not great Bought 5 of these doors. Generally happy with the way they look, but as other reviewers observed, the workmanship is not super. Some jambs had damage to the finishing (see photos), so be prepared for some fixes before painting. Also despite best efforts it is almost impossible to get them totally flush against the door stop along the entire length of the door, suggesting some warping of doors or jambs. I was looking for heavier doors to help with sound transmission. Though they are better than the hollow doors they replaced, I had expected greater improvement. Will probably have to add some foam stripping to up their performance.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the time and money Absolute garbage... the jamb was warped on each side, and all of the screws in the top hinge were stripped. The mortise of the center hinge was only a 16th of an inch at best, making it impossible to get an even gap between the door and the jamb. I spent more time repairing this brand new door right out of the packaging, than I did actually installing it. As a carpenter, I've installed probably a couple of hundred doors, and this was the worst of them all. Spend your money elsewhere.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mostly easy to install Easy to install. The frame is nice and it has the door stop on the jamb. The lock set hole is drilled out which makes the install much quicker. The door is hollow, and the wood border on the inside is pretty small so it you have to cut more than 1 inch off the bottom to make it fit, you’ll have to add a wood strip along the bottom on the inside of the door.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor workmanship It's a new day with the same poor quality workmanship we've come to know from Masonite. I bought 6 doors and had to work on 5 of them before I could hang them. Problems varying from the hinges not being put fully into the mortise, (affecting toe-in on the catch side), screws being over tightened and stripped holding the hinge on the door, the mortise depth on the bottom hinge of every door was only about 1/32 of an inch vs the top hinge being mortised the correct depth, and hinges being attached to the door with one end in the mortise and the other end out. I like the style of door but if I had the opportunity to do it over again, I would buy just the door slab and hang it myself so I didnt have to fix their mistakes, or better yet, buy a better quality door like Trimlite. I did renovations professionally for 9 years and consistently had problems with Masonite products so I guess it's partially my fault for hoping they would be doing something better by now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Modern profile Great style and great sizing. Finished with f94 ultra high gloss looked amazing. The bad. They warp very easily inconsistent mortis inconsistent jam stops and used 5/8 screws for the hinges. Your best to buy the slab and build it yourself

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible I bought 2 of these to match bathroom door. Had painter take them Out of frame to paint before installation. During installation I came across the complete lack of quality and couldn’t return because they were painted .What a joke these frames are! A complete rip off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Frames are absolute JUNK A quick 15 min door install I figured with two hours to try and get level. 2x4 frame is outright idiotic and leave barely any room to adjust the frame. Doesn’t help all THREE doors had twisted 2x4 you could never get perfect level. Wish I never purchased these doors. Absolute cheap junk.

I had purchased this door in store, upon getting home I noticed a defect which was a large bump on the door. To avoid me renting a truck again and hauling the door back to exchange it can this be sanded or will that cause more issues ? Thanks

Asked by: ap222111
If its a flat panel door with no embossing or "wood grain" you can sand it down. However you don't want to sand more than 1/8 of an inch. If you go more you may sand through the panel.

Hi There, Can the width of the door be trimmed down? If so, what is the maximum?

Asked by: BC_Reno
Hi,  I’m not a contractor but I have this door.  The design pattern is symmetrical  so I think that trimming it would ruin the look.  You could take off the bottom but I would really hesitate to take down the sides.  Good luck!

How many hinges are on the prehung door and how far from the top and bottom are the hinges. The doors I am replacing only have two hinges.

Asked by: Nixon
There are 3 hinges. Top is 8 3/4" to the center of the hinge. The bottom is 12 3/4" to the center of the hinge.
