Rated 2 out of 5 by from Did a great job until it broke This sander worked well for 2.5 years until it stopped turning on. Pros: Very good value. It has a slow start, variable speed, and will not leave marks if used properly. The carrying bag is great for storing all the sanding discs. Cons: The adapter for the vacuum is poor fitting. Despite the extreme force required to attach it, it will fall off after a few minutes, causing dust to momentarily fly everywhere. My unit stopped working after 2.5 years. At first it would have trouble turning on, and I had to rapidly flip the switch to get it going. It eventually would never turn on again. I probably used it for a total of 15 hours.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointing I got this sander at our local big box store. I will admit it was a heck of a deal and very inexpensive. Perhaps I should have checked out some reviews!! I am a woodworking hobbyist and by no means do I use this tool to excess. It has maybe 4 or 5 hours of run time on it. The hook and loop pad has worn out already. I checked with big box store and of course they don't have parts. I sent 3 different requests via the Milwaukee website enquiring about replacement parts and nothing. No one has contacted me back. This will be my last Milwaukee tool!!!

The extra long cord makes it a pleasure to work with and the variable speed feature is nice for sanding hardwood / softwood. The only warranty that i know of that beats the 5 year milwaukee one is ridgid, and this is just a better sander

This is not typical of this company but I’m disappointed in the the performance of this sander!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not last Bought this twice. 1st time it went bad in about 6 weeks but gave it the benefits of doubt that I got a bad apple somehow.. yet again it went bad in about 6 weeks which cannot be just my bad luck. Otherwise, it feels like a good built and the vacuum extension is also helpful.

Started smoking and electrical burning smell. We had a dewalt one forever and it worked awesome. Decided to get a new one and bought this one. Never again. We replaced it with a Dewalt one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but could be great. Overall I've been satisfied with my Milwaukee palm sander. I've owned and diligently used it for coming up on five years with few complaints based on its performance. Compared to most mid/ low range contractor grade tool alternatives that I've used, the Milwaukee's 3 amp motor provides a sufficient power band to not get bogged down if applying pressure when using low grit pads to really chew through excess material (if you're not necessarily finessing the finish yet...). Vibration transfer into hands is also minimal. The two cons that I've experienced have been a sticky on/ off button, and the awkward fitting vacuum adapter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It became aggressive after some usage, it bites Sander worked great for about 3-4 months, then it started having this issue where it would bite the wood very aggressively when it first touches it, then it winds down to normal. I have to smoothly and slowly float it over the wood so it gradually slows down to normal speed. Very annoying. Even if you lower the speed, it always starts very aggressive and high RPM, the motor sounds quieter at lower speeds, but it doesn't rotate slower. It only goes back to normal speed under load, but that initial bite will gouge and destroy your material if you don't gradually lower it to contact. If you search online there are videos about the same problem with Milwaukee's Cordless sander too. Disappointed.

Can this be used to sand hardwood floor and kitchen cabinets.

Minor spot work on hardwood floors may be possible with the right sandpaper grit. Not suitable for extensive refinishing. More appropriate for work on kitchen cabinets.
