Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible-- just being honest This is a good contender for one of the worst light bulbs ever to try to install. I've slaved away a couple hours trying to install it before getting out a file and filing away the tabs (bumped plastic protrusions on either side of the middle block and spray on a PTFE lubricant to get it to slide into the light fixture. Oh, and by the way I saw the Philips "guarantee" that they will last 3 hours per day for min. of 2 years 7 days a week. Well I must just be having bad luck then because for the last 4.5 years I've been changing the 2 bulbs a min. of 1x per year-- I estimate they barely get 1.5 hours a day (being generous).

I had no trouble to install them, and I found that the lifetime of these bulbs was at least 4 years (used in a bathroom with 4 people in the house). I don't like that Home Depot in Montreal doesn't clearly provide a service to recycle these lead + mercury bulbs. I'm trying to find a LED alternative for this reason.

Is the base a g24q-1 or g24q-3? The top of the description says it's a g24q-1 and the bottom of the description says it's a g24q-3. They aren't interchangeable....
