Does these 35w gu10 bulbs produce a warm yellow light or bright white light?

Asked by: Tatiana Charko
The 35 watt halogen bulb produces a slightly yellowish light at full brightness, which becomes more yellow as it is dimmed, making it more like an incandescent bulb.  Halogen lamps almost invariably have a color temperature rating of 3000K. If you are looking for a similar LED lamp look something with a colour temperature rating of 2700K to 3000K. However, keep in mind that LED lamps have a fixed color temperature, independent of their dimmer setting. Incandescent and halogen lamps get "warmer" in color temperature as their dimmer setting is turned down, while LED lamps will exhibit a constant color temperature even when dimmed down. This means that if you specifically like the look of dimmed halogen lighting, you may actually prefer a lower color temperature of 2700K rather than 3000K.

Regarding the specs for the Philips Halogen GU10 35W Reflector Light Bulb above, what is the difference between: "Actual Colour Temperature (Kelvins) 3000 K" and "Light Bulb Colour Temperature (Kelvins) 2200 K "? Could someone clarify? Thank you

Asked by: trou
There should not be a difference between these two. We will have the specs updated. According to the product specifications, actual Colour temperature reads as 2800K.
