Overview

Model # 2POGWPW122 Store SKU # 1001041850

Spring to autumn colour, without lifting a finger! The name ninebark derives from the peeling mature bark, which makes it look like there are multiple layers of bark on the plant. Ginger Wineninebark expands the colour palette for these easy care, native flowering shrubs. Spring foliage emerges a sunny orange colour and matures to sparkling burgundy. Clusters of white flowers cover the plant in late spring, and these age to attractive red seed heads. This disease-resistant shrub does best in full sun locations and cooler climates. This specimen is colourful from Spring through Fall. Native plant, requiring very low maintenance; no pruning or deadheading is required, also drought-tolerant. With its naturally graceful, arching habit, ninebarks are best left unpruned. Take its relatively large size into account when siting this plant. It makes an especially nice backdrop for other plantings. Plant in full sun for the best looks and performance.
