Plus, it's a great value with a 5-year heat exchanger and 1-year parts limited warranty. Incoming water temperatures, hot water demand and size of the tankless unit installed are all factors in meeting your hot water needs. If your requirements exceed 2 showers, it's recommended that you consider a Rheem natural gas or propane tankless unit. Requires 4 x 40 AMP double pole breakers with 8 gauge wire (professional installation required).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rheem 36kW - Control Panel Came Not Working bought this couple years back knowing the house we were moving into needed an on demand versus hot water tank, finally got around to installing it, bled any and all air, checked that power is at all the terminals, water flow and pressure is good and unit doesn't turn on, Probably some Covid zero quality control at the time unit,, it is a good thing I plumbed in shut-off valve by-pass of the hot water tank and didn't get rid of the hot water tank or there would be no hot water. Not sure what to do know given I bought it over 2 years ago, probably the control panel is off warranty.nel NFG

Check with qualified electrician before purchase to determine if the electrical panel in your home has enough unused breakers to accommadate the amps needed for installation. The Rheem 36W unit requires 4X40 AMP Breakers. Installation isn't a simple change over from electric hot water tank to a tankless.

I am renovating my washroom, can this tankless water heater be installed in a closet my kitchen and washroom are separated by one wall wich will be opened during renos? Do I need just an electrician to install or also a plumber? thank you

Hi, Is there anyone who could recommend a certified tech to install this electric tankless water heater? I live Markham/Toronto Ontario. All the pros I called said they only know the gas version. Thanks in advance.

We purchased this product a year ago. Excellent product and Home Depot's price was the also the most competitive, Hired a plumber to plumb a line to unit then an electrician. Electician had never installed one of these units. He studied spec that came with unit then,upgraded our panel with a sub-panel then BINGO we had hot water.

Hi, would this work with only 2 breaker (2 wires) instead of 4? Would it still work at only 50% capacity, 18kw instead of 36, thanks

I am looking to install an electric on-deman hot water heater for well water, 3 hours north of Toronto.  Will this provide adequate hot water for a 2 bathroom house - 2 occupants, a d/w and a washer - not used at the same time, and is 200 am service okay
