I would have initially given this product a 5 out of 5 for the improvements beyond the first generation jobsite radio (which I own), however I'm now on my 3rd radio! seems these radios are sensitive to cold weather, and the LCD screen fails! first radio went in 2 weeks after bringing it in from my cold truck, second one lasted 1 day...I now bring my radio in from my work truck at nights which is an inconvenience. this major flaw aside, the radio is amazing with the remote control and the ability to control the ipod externally which the first gen could not. take caution with this item in cold climates!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could be better. The radio is rather rugged and looks good imo. It's easy to use with an i-pod. I have had no issues with the remote not working. I do find it a bit quite vs other radios I've used. It gets good reception but i mostly use the aux where you can use your ipod or regular mp3 player. It does sound clear but there isn't much there in the lower end. I found I have to remove the battery completely when I'm not using it or else the battery will die. That is a bit of a pain. Also it does not charge batteries but many radios do not offer this feature so what can you do. I do like the fact it uses 18v batteries, same as my x4 kits. Not a bad radio but with a bit more tweaking to the audio level it could be better imo. Iif you already own Ridgid and have the batteries it's not a bad buy but I would recommend the smaller Ridgid Radio first. It too has an aux input, is cheaper and more mobile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product This is a great radio! I use it while working in the shop and I take it with me camping! I also use it when I coach basketball as a radio in the gym for the girls to use during warmups and it's loud enough to be heard around the entire gym. I see a lot of people saying that it doesn't charge the battery. But it does. For some reason the manual uploaded on Home Depot's site isn't for this radio. You can find the correct manual on Rigid's site which clearly shows on page 10 that this is also a charger. How that helps some! Cheers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly surprised Got this with the heavy cast iron Rigid table saw - I wish I could say I was as happy with the table saw. Didn't expect much from this unit, but it has become an essential member of my crew. The sound is big and clear - and I am a bit of an audiophile too and hard to please - The secure Ipod dock is great and it is designed very well. Very tough but I keep going back to the great sound quality. Nice remote securely mounted to the side of the unit protected by the shielding. One change I would like is a toggle through mode button- it does it on the remote which is great, but you need to hit mode, then left or right scroll to switch modes on the unit itself - not easy when the screen is dusty or not well lit.

Charging

If you plug the radio in at home and use the power, will that charge the battery for outdoor use? I want to use my radio as an outdoor radio mostly, running off a battery but I'm worried about having to buy new expensive batteries each time. What would be my best option for buying an outdoor radio that works off rechargable batteries?

It does not charge the 18V batteries. If you already have compatible batteries and a charger for a certain brand, that would be the best radio for you.

I Bought  this speaker and I can’t power it off from the power button,it’s not shutting down when the plug is on and one time I shut it down from the phone app but it wasn’t turn on from the button,I had to wait around 30 minutes?what is the problem?

just wondering, i know the radio is bluetooth and i also have a portable AR wireless bluetooth speaker...is there anyway to pair these to up...i just wanted to get additional sound in another section...
