Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool for the backwoods I purchased this tool mainly for cutting limbs (up to about 2 inches diam) from trees along our various hunting trails for easier passage. It worked great for that purpose. One can hold the limb with one hand, and cut with the other. The cut should be near the trunk of the tree otherwise there will be a lot of vibration along the limb. It has an 'orbital' saw setting that I did not use that much. Although that did cut faster, it had more vibration than what I liked. For small cutting tasks in the 'outback', it worked better and safer than a chainsaw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommend Great saw. Love it. Safety switch is placed smartly, lots of power and a good run time when paired with an octane 3ah battery. I have used it for light demo work to cutting 2" schedule 40 iron pipe. No complaints and much handier than my old corded Dewalt.

I had a previous generation which is similar in form to the multi-tool head with the reciprocating attachment. Battery life is very good and has good control. The only thing I would change is the location of the light which should in my opinion be lit from the opposite side because it creates a weird shadow when you are trying to line up your cut. I ended up covering it with electrical tape so no light at all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad tool, frustrating warrantee process I bought this tool for work. It lasted one month before the guard broke off. The warrantee replacement process started in May 2022 and I still haven't received a new tool as of January 2023. Part of this is due to the repair company I had to deal with to have the tool replaced. They are now out of business and I now have to re-start the replacement process myself. Either way, I bought this tool that I depend on for work and have ended up without one for almost a year... I've lost a lot of confidence in the value of this "Lifetime" warrantee. In all honesty, I'm hoping this piece of junk has been discontinued and I can receive the new R8648B tool as it looks like it has a guard that would hold up to some actual use. The crimping they used on the guard of this tool creates a weak spot where the guard can break easily. You can see it in the design. If these are still out there, don't buy it!

Le guide devant la scie bouge donc difficile de faire coupe droite. Aucun doute que même si RIDGID est la marque d outils que je préfère, pour la meilleur scie à une main offert sur le marché, aucun doute que Milwaukee18v l'emporte haut la main pour le moment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerful little saw Another mighty ridgid tool. I bought this to replace the 18v job max 18v with reciprocating saw head I used for 4 years. I am a controls electrician and it works great for installing conduit up to 1”. Twice the stroke depth of the job max. Even cuts through unistrut with ease. Only draw back is I wish it had a clip.

How well does this work on EMT or other types of metal conduit?
