The WBSK workbench and shelving hardware kit provides all the necessary hardware, fasteners and plans to build a workbench or shelving unit. The kit features the Simpson Strong-Tie Rigid Tie RTC2Z corner connector that makes it easier to make strong and durable corner connections with 2x4 lumber using no angle cuts or bolts. Each kit contains enough RTC2Z connectors to construct one workbench. Two kits are necessary to build a four-shelf unit. With the WBSK kit, a professional quality project can be achieved in a couple of hours. When lumber is added, the workbench and shelving hardware kit has everything the DIYer needs to customize and complete the project they need to fit their space.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice idea, but items missing It's a great concept and the brackets themselves work well. The problem is that the box doesn't contain all of the items that are supposed to be included. The 1 1/4 and 2 1/2 inch flat-head screws as well as the DIY Done Right booklet are missing. I returned the kit twice and each time I repurchased it, there were items missing. In one case, NO screws were included at all. After purchasing the kit a third time, I gave up trying and just bought the missing screws separately. It was disappointing and time-consuming, but at the end of the day, I built a very nice workbench.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great beginners kit. Great beginner kit and cheaper than buying everything seperately from what I could find. Lots of customization options if you wanted to change the size of the table. I didn't make a shelf but I would trust it to be very strong and reliable. I can get up and jump around on my workbench without any flex or bending. I started using pocket holes afterward for my other shop furniture but this gave me a good starting place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just add a few..... ...2 X 4's, mix with the contents of this box and like magic, you have a solid structure that can act as a myriad number of things....Work Bench, Shelves...or even in my case a Stair Landing in the Garage! Was very impressed with the quality of the Simpson Connectors. I have used connectors in the past, and even simpson ones at that but these ones were very high quality.

The brackets are strong and Simpson provides a useful guide to demonstrate how many creative ways the hardware may be used. The shelving kit, for example, includes clear and detailed plans and ideas for building useful, practical, inexpensive shelving for the home.

These look like flimsy sheet bent into place... What thickness are these ?

They are ok for the money. I built a 3x6 foot bench built a VW dune buggy frame on it. It was good until I put on the brakes and transmission but it still works well for lighter parts. I guess 16 maybe 14 gage steel But I am guessing!
