Rated 2 out of 5 by from Buyer beware! I bought this machine a month ago and have given it a good go trying many different cycles. I bought this machine because i felt that my front loader did not use enough water and did not have enough agitation to clean the clothes. On this machine I can use the deep water option and the tub will fill up but when it is full the agitator is not powerful enough to agitate the clothes. The clothes simply gently shake not moving at all. In my opinion the bottom blades are not large enough to get the clothes moving. I wonder if they designed it this way to lessen load out of balance. While filling up, the clothes shake a bit more but there is definitely no agitation. I have a video but it will not upload for some reason. In the heavy duty cycle the washer spends so much time sensing that it can be over two hours for the wash to complete a load. The clothes do not clean to a high level. To get the most out of this washer i use the quick cycle and extra rinse. Also if you manually fill up the machine to soak you cannot get the washer to go into wash mode without totally draining all the water first. Awful if you want the bleach or detergent to work into the clothes. Also Whirlpool has told me they have a policy of not returning washers so I’m stuck with yet another underperforming machine! Very sad especially considering the money I spent!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it Love this washer , I got the large capacity because I have a lot of Linens to wash , I can easily wash 8 linens in one load and it does not fill the drum. Love the deep water option , I feel like some washing machines really don’t use enough water . Love that I can pre soak . I also love that I can hit pause and the door unlocks immediately, no waiting . Love all the features and options . The automatic Soap dispenser is pretty cool and I also like having the agitator , even if it doesn’t spin as much as it could , I think that it at least helps things like linens from getting all tangled up

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great looking washer. I'm still getting used to the settings and features of this washer. It has a great appearance.Loads take much longer that my previous 25 year old washer. Likely having to do with the enerstar rating. Hopefully that will pay off with less water usage. The cleaning effect seams to be better than my last washer. The manual is not very detailed so some settings have been by trial and error. Probably more complicated than some will want or need. Its a good feature to have the removeable agitator for doing bedding although my old washer had a full agitator and I had no problems there. Overall It gets the job done and I am satisfied.

Had a Kitchenaid front loader for 16 years! had to replace because it finally had the biscuit, purchased this set and was disappointed from the start. Completely my fault as I ignored the reviews but purchased it anyway. Doesnt wash a full load properly. Small loads are great! If you have a large family - forget it. Thought the agitator would make a difference - it doesnt. Ended up purchasing an LG front loader and dryer 14 months later and giving this away. Felt awful even to give it away as i knew it was garbage. Even the dryer doesnt dry the clothes - even on high heat. More times than not, i had to run a second cycle and always on "timed dry".....Dont ignore the reviews like i did and save your money!!!!

IT DID THAT SINCE THE FIRST LOADS AND I CALLED WHIRLPOOL RIGHT AWAY. THEY HAD A TECH CALLED ME HE SUGGESTED TO SET UP ALL MY LOADS ON BULKY ITEMS AND TOP WATER. STILL DOESNT WASH PROPERLY. REALLY NOT SATIFIED WITH THE SET ITS LITERALLY 3000$ TO THE GARBAGE. ALSO IT DEBALANCES ALOT EVEN IF THE LOAD IS PROPERLY BALANCED AT THE BEGINNING OF THE WASH.

There has been soap residue left on our clothes after being washed and last night the dryer started to make a clicking noise and my husband thought he could smell something burning. We have no words to describe our disappointment and frustration. We are definitely taking it back. Whirlpool you should be ashamed of company! Btw I had to give it a rating of 1 in order to submit my review.

Broken main computer board leaving it unable to drain, as well as broken locking clip leaving it completely inoperable. Whirlpool is fixing it under their first year manufacturer's warranty. It's been almost 2 weeks waiting for parts. Not ideal.

Does this washer have a clean washer cycle?

It does, but to tell you the truth I wouldn’t recommend this washer. We’ve had it for about 8 months and the clothes come out full of lint and dirty streaks sometimes. Not sure if I have the option of adding photos here but we still haven’t figured out why do the clothes come out like that. The only thing we’re able to do is put it back in the washer and turn on the rinse and drain cycle. But it’s ridiculous to be doing that almost every time. Sorry, you wanted to know about something else but I figured I should let you know about this issue too.

How to clean the washer

Hi Penny, The Washer Maintenance Procedure should be performed, at a minimum, once per month or every 30 wash cycles, whichever occurs sooner, to control the rate at which soils and detergent may otherwise accumulate in your washer. To clean your washer follow: 1. affresh® Washer Cleaner Cycle Procedure (Recommended for Best Performance): a. Open the washer lid and remove any clothing or items. b. Place an affresh® Washer Cleaner tablet in the bottom of the washer basket. c. Do not place an affresh® Washer Cleaner tablet in the detergent dispenser. d. Do not add any detergent or other chemical to the washer when following this procedure. e. Close the washer lid. f. Select the CLEAN WASHER cycle. g. Touch and hold the START/PAUSE button to begin the cycle. The Clean Washer Cycle Operation is described below. NOTE: For best results, do not interrupt cycle. If cycle must be interrupted, touch POWER. After the Clean washer cycle has stopped, run a RINSE & SPIN cycle to rinse cleaner from washer. I hope this helps! Regards Whirlpool Canada Team!

Can this washing machine wash king size comforter without an issue like going off balance?

Hi, I haven’t washed a king size comforter but did some heavy and large stuff. The only thing, you need to keep the agitator in for best results (no entanglements). The tub is huge, the largest dryer we’ve owned. Regards.

We changed from a front load washer to this one a few weeks ago and I find it so loud. Others have commented on how quiet it is but I find it loud. We have a main floor laundry room and it's all i can hear. Is this normal?
