Rated 3 de 5 de par Great unit except the shut off!!! I have owned the mini now for over a year. When I have it plugged in and connected to my iPhone it does the job. Works amazing. The reason I gave it 3 stars is the shut off. It’s such a pain in the but to know if it’s completely off. There have been many times I thought I had it turned off to find that the next time o go to use it the battery is dead. I have kept a stash of 2032 batteries on hand but it’s getting expensive to replace. They need to re-design this to that there is either a physical switch or if for example you pull the probe from the unit that it will shut off after 1 minute. Did you catch that Weber????

Rated 2 de 5 de par Doesn't last long I am just adding to the long list of people disappointed in this product. Like others, mine worked great for about 10-15 grilling sessions. I actually don't grill as much as I should, so 10-15 grillings is a summer for me. After that, it began to read incorrectly. I could get the temperature to change a lot just by wiggling the probe wire where it joined the actual probe skewer. I assume the heat damaged it and it had a short. When it worked, it was very useful, so I really wish someone could come up with a design that was more durable. I know the probes aren't going to last forever, but for the price I expect more than 3 months.

Temperature readings are done solely through the phone app. When I used the gauge the first time the display froze at a temperature far below what I specified. I rebooted the Blutooth several times but didn't work. I know the blogs and web sites talk about buying a VERY expensive temperature gauge and I might have just gotten a bad one, but my next is going to be a simple model. In short, to expensive, not to work correctly right out of the box. Remember you're trying to cook something, not be an computer wizard or troubleshoot some technology glitch

Rated 1 de 5 de par Poor Design & Material Have had this device for 2 years and used it aa dozen times. Always difficult to see the dial lights in sunlight to tell if it is on or off. Range is poor especially if you go inside to relax while the device is supposed to be working. After a few uses the plastic sheath over the probe disintegrated in the heat (isn't that the way it is supposed to be used?). Last straw was intermittent temperature readings that i think are due to a shorting cable which has been used EXCLUSIVELY with a Weber Grill and cover while cooking turkey for Thanksgiving. if it can't stand up to having a grill cover on it from the device manufacturers product line what else can one do?

Rated 1 de 5 de par App for this is AWFUL! I dont write reviews typically, but I had to write one for this junk. The temperature seems accurate on the hardware. THE PROBLEM is the software, the app. my living room is 15ft from my smoker and it only connects every 5th time I try to connect to it via bluetooth. THE BIGGEST gripe with this is that it doesnt automatically refresh the temperature. If I want to get an updated temperature, I have to turn the app off and turn it back on. then when I turn it back on. it doesn't remember the sensor, and I have to go through 5 iterations of it recognizing the sensor. DO NOT BUY. I'm returning this thermometer

Rated 1 de 5 de par Impossible to connect and use more than once This never paired beyond the first time I tried to use it. When I went to use it again a week later, it wouldn't pair to my device. And as others have mentioned before me, this thing is way too difficult to use, considering how hard it is to tell when it's on or off. Overall, spend your money elsewhere. The design and implementation on this is really poor. And to top it off, there's NO INFORMATION available to support any technical questions.

Rated 4 de 5 de par This Sold me to get an upgrade Well been using this little guy for almost a year now and I think I am ready for an upgrade. Sometimes use for temperatures, stalls etc. and sometimes for ambient temperatures. Every once in a while will give me problems that takes just a quick reset of the Android phone or transmitter to get it working right. Got some overtime monies coming so getting an upgrade to an iGrill2 and adding an ambient probe. The picture is showing it stuck into a turkey while a different one was being use for the ambient temperature. What I needed was a reader to give me alarms for the ambient temperatures getting too low or high.

Rated 5 de 5 de par Don't know how I cooked without it?!?! This thermometer is awsome! I always used an analog thermometer which I had to constantly open and close my smoker while loosing heat, but not with this baby. Just download the app and set your your desired temp. When your meat hits the temperature that you are looking for, it sets off the alarm. It also has built in presets for you to use just in case you are not sure what temp is needed. It's actually smaller than you think, but it makes it nice that it has a built-in magnetic base that will attach to your grill. There is a hard rubber grip peice that I thought would melt, but never did even at a temp of 400. Not only did I use this as a meat probe, but also an internal temp gauge for the smoker. I only wish the temp would show up on the main base since you have to look at your phone all the time, but my first attempt at a pork butt came out absolutely perfect because of this. Trust me... you will love this thermometer.

Not with the probe mini thermometer. You only get one probe and it's for internal use in the meat. Some of the new charcoal grills have thermometers built into the lid. I'm guessing that if you got the iGrill upgrade, you could use an extra probe to measure ambient temp in the smoker but I would be careful not to expose it to flame.
