Rated 5 out of 5 by from good for light duty trimming bought this for light duty trimming. Its actually quite peppy vs the corded I used to have access to. No complaints. I see some blade failures, i would attribute them to misuse. 3/4" cutting capacity doesnt mean it will cut 3/4" thick branch, it means the stroke width is 3/4". The actual effective cutting width is narrower. You dont open your scissor to the fullest expect to cut something that big do you? gunk build up on the blade, have a metal brush with you, clean the blades with it after use. Lube it with oil after use. bought mine with the starter pack promo**, which made the tool highly worthwhile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Trimmer I Have Ever Used I have been gardening for many years and have gone through 2 corded and 2 cordless trimmers during that time. This is by far the best cutting hedge trimmer that I have ever used. It gives a clean precise cut with what appear to be stainless steel blades. This makes even fine shaping possible The safety switch and hand trigger are comfortable and easy to use, even with heavy garden gloves. I use the High Capacity lithium batteries because I have several ONE+ Ryobi tools. After an hour of continuous use of this hedge trimmer, I still have 2 bars left on the battery readout. Very impressive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I could want from a hedge trimmer I initially wanted to buy a gas hedge trimmer because I used my neighbour's electric one and it was not very powerful. I did not even consider battery powered because I thought they would be even worse. I somehow stumbled on this (because I own some Ryobi tools and have batteries) and having read the reviews, decided to give it a shot and return if I was not happy. Man, this thing cuts! I only have the 1.5 Ah batteries and they are enough (granted I only have maybe 5-6m hedges). It cuts through large branches with ease, the little orange sweep thing is cool, no cords to worry about, AND since it is not gas, it is super quiet and I can use it while my son is on his day nap. Now I want to try their 18V mower, hope it goes on sale or something.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works well Based on the mostly positive reviews I bought this to replace my B & D electric trimmer and it does work well and cuts through my cedar hedge very easily. The only disappointment is while using my fully charged Ryobi NiCad battery the tool only worked for about 20 minutes before the battery started to significantly slow down. I was surprised at this and disappointed because some reviewers said they used their old batteries and still had lots of life left in them after using this trimmer. I don't really want to pay for a Lithium Ion battery but I'm thinking my old batteries aren't going to be as strong or last as long when I use this tool. Also the power button seems to stick a bit but I'll give it another go with the old batteries and see how what happens.

Did a great job and 18V ONE+ line is excellent. Went right out and bought the reciprocating saw to add to my collection. Great tools, great vale.

What is the SKU for the battery, if the battery is not purchased, does this come with a cord to use?

As the description already states, it will work with ANY ONEplus+ Ryobi battery. Get one that will suit the job you will need it for (a smaller capacity one for small jobs, and large capacity for bigger jobs). There is not cord with this, because it is ONEplus+ system.

I have a Ryobi cordless leaf blower.  Can I use the same battery and charger I use for it on this hedge trimmer?  It’s a 40v lithium battery and charger.  If not, is there another hedge trimmer that allows me to exchange them back and forth?

No, you cannot. This uses an 18V battery, which has a completely different connection. There are a few options available for the 40V batteries.

How long can expect to get on a single charge?

We do sell other 18V ONE+ batteries and chargers of all different sizes to increase users allotment of batteries and runtimes. If you pair this product with a 4.0 Ah battery or higher, you will get up to 45 mins of runtime per charge. Keep in mind more amp hours (Ah) the longer runtime you will receive.
