Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolutely horrible design. Absolutely horrible design. Power switch failure like many others on here. I have over 40 Ridgid tools which I solely use for home owner use but have started switch to red because of the frustration with the lack of quality. I went to the local tool repair place that the local Home Depot uses and have been waiting almost 9 months for a power switch that broke for no reason other then a poor design. I have the cheaper version as well but hate using Allen keys to change head out and same with my other corded. They need to make parts easier to get so you can just order stuff to the store rather than wait for crappy repair shops.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked great until it stopped working. I bought this tool a few months ago and it worked great, the other night the on switch started sticking really badly and it completely stopped turning on. to make matters worse I tried registering the tool through ridgid when I first bought it and it would not register so now I have a broken tool and will have to pay to replace it after 4 months.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Switch is a poor design Brand new out of the box and didn’t last one battery cycle  On off switch is almost impossible to move have to  Remove the battery to get it to stop then pry it to the off position with a screwdriver took it apart to try to get the rest of the day out of it to get my job done … made it sort of better  With a small file and some foil tape to made it slide better  But still randomly sticks almost solid.. junk do not buy  Sad because I’ve been years collecting ridgid tools and this  Thing just shows how “they don’t make em like the used to”  Don’t buy it ,

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought this two months a year ago. It came with a free battery promotion. Definitely not professional quality. The first thing I noticed is that the batteries ran down quickly, the amp hours are overstated. After a short time the speed setting dial fell off. The reason I bought them is the lifetime warranty. The warranty is also a disappointment. Even though rigid is sold exclusively through Home Depot, they do not honour or process the warranty and the tools must be taken to a third party. Very inconvenient and hardly worth it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Speed dial failed. I purchased one and the speed dial failed. I had it fixed and it failed again. I bought another one and the speed dial failed as well!! Poor design Very disappointed as I have several thousand dollars invested in ridgid tools and switching to another brand would be costly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from batteries do not fit well I own a lot of rigid tools, and have always been happy with them until this multi tool. The batteries fit so poorly into the multi tool that it cuts in and out of power all the time, and sometimes won't turn on at all. When it does turn on, the vibration from the multi tool eventually loosens the battery and it shuts off. Extremely frustrating to use. They just didn't design the unit to properly seat the battery. Only had it 3 months and the tool is basically unusable at this point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool! Bought this to cut into the floor and transom of my fiberglass boat through 1/2" fiberglass and 3/4" wood. Added a bi-metal blade it did the job well. Used a few 4ah batteries as there was alot to cut. Felt good in the hand with very little vibration. Mostly let the wieght of the tool do the job and cut into the floor while moving back and forth. The work light will flash to warn you of a upcoming battery change. Nice touch.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Couldn't turn on after 4 hours of use I bought the oscillating saw to do a small job cutting drywall. It was great for the first couple of hours and then got harder and harder to turn on. At the end of the job, I was having to use my hammer to get the saw to turn on. I ended up returning it. I'm hoping I just had a lemon as all my other Ridgid tools have been good to me.

can you use other blades beside Ridgid blades

Asked by: allan
Yes, most brands of these multi-tools use a universal type blade. You can buy blades that will fit from most of the major brands as well as go onto Amazon and get a great price buying in bulk.
