Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cuts better than some competitors Since all of these little cutters looks alike and most use 4V batteries, I thought they would all be the same. I was wrong. This Ryobi cutter is smoother, cuts more cleanly and cuts with less effort than the equivalent cutters from Worx and Black & Decker. I really like that the batter is replaceable and charges outside the tool. Since I cut often, I purchased a second batter and never fear running out of power. Whereas before, I had to always remember to charge my Worx and Black & Decker cutters. The Ryobi's motor also has a pitch which I find less annoying that the whining sound of the other 2 cutters. So far, I've had no issue cutting through piles of cardboard boxes. It works extremely well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For the lazy folks... but could be $20 cheaper... Honestly, it could be $20 cheaper... for what it is... At $100 it may or may not be worth it depending what you want to cut. More often than not, I need to cut cardboard into smaller pieces to fit into the recycle bin. This makes it extremely easy to cut through cardboard. I haven't cut anything else.

I first have to admit that I am a huge ryobi tools fan and have an extensive collection and have been selling all non ryobi and replacing with the green. But… thats because they are amazing tools!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent cutters. For what it is, it does a decent job. I'm using it to cut fiberglass cloth for boat repairs. For that it does a good enough job. The only think I think could be improved is the charging. The battery must be removed to charge.

can this cut a straight line through 1/8” masonite?

Has anyone ever used this tool to cut through fabric? Would it do a good job or is it too heavy duty for something like that?

Can this be used to score vinyl flooring? My knife has a tendency to 'skate' and this seems easier to control.
