Its ultimate temperature control makes it the most accurate type of thermostat on the market (+/-0.15C). An on-screen heating power indicator also offers at-a-glance verification of power being used; 2-wire, non-polarized connection provides fast, hassle-free installation. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Aube programmable thermostat Works exactly as expected with a baseboard heater. The two wires are incredibly easy to install as you don't have to be worried about what wire connects to what. The appearance on the wall is much better than the ones carried in store at Home Depot (the Aube is online only), because it's view panel is slightly offset which makes it look interesting instead of bland and boring. The non-programmable Aube for baseboards (ordered online) is also much nicer than the ones they have in store because it is a slender rectangle instead of a big bulky square.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for Fan forced heaters Tried this unit with a fan forced heater and when set to fan function at room temperature it starts the heater every four to five minutes and runs for 15 to 30 seconds and stops repetedly,. This is 24 starts and stops per hour, when you run a Fan forced heater for just 15 sec. to 30 sec. its a very inefficient use of energy as the unit does not warm up before it turns off again and its also quite annoying if your in the room while this is going on and off,,. Aube's literature and technical support says 15 minute cycle but its wrong its five minutes including the run time!! I've had to return this and all there other models are same, tried four different models now, despite what there support says they are all the same, I've reluctantly gone back to the 30 year old Honeywell type that I was replacing!!

the specs are confusing. It says it is a low volt but other sites identify this model as Line Volt. Is this a low volt or a line volt thermostat?

It is a line voltage thermostat. It has the 2-3 thicker wires of a line voltage thermostat used to control your heaters directly NOT the multiple tiny wires associated with a low voltage model used for HVAC or central heating systems.

Can this unit be used in an apartment building with hot water baseboard heating?

I would first double check the wattage of your baseboard heater. From the sounds of it, you have a low volt system (because of the hot water/steam) in which this thermostat would not work; you would require a low volt thermostat. I would first suggest that you double check with your superintendent to determine the wattage of your system, before deciding on the thermostat to purchase.

I have a 2000 watt and 1250 watt baseboard heater in my living room.dining room area that I need to control from on thermostat. Will this work? I ask because I bought a NOMA with a rating of 4000W and it didn't even turn on when i hooked it up.
