Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't believe the warranty I had this freezer less than 1 year and it died. Danby wouldn't send anyone to fix it, so I had to throw out the food, pay to have the freezer hauled away and pay to have a new one delivered. The manufacturer said they would send a cheque for the entire purchase price of the original freezer to me. I've been waiting for over 4 months for the cheque. They say that they sent it, and I wait 2 weeks before I call - then they say "it was returned to us". I confirmed the mailing address and wait; 2 weeks later I call and they say "it was just returned to us - we'll send it again" ... And so on and so on. Do NOT buy any Danby products if you expect them to honour their written warranties.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lasted only a year Similar to the other reviews, our Danby 5.5 Cu. Ft. Black Chest Freezer lasted 13 months before it died. Lost a Costco trip's worth of meat and frozen goods. After I sent Danby pics of the freezer with the serial # and power cord removed, they processed a refund. (Hopefully the cheque arrives sooner than it did for the other reviewer.) Had to dispose of the freezer myself. Will not be buying a Danby product again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from miserable product From the first day I purchased this product, the freezer frosted up much more than normal and made too much noise. 2 months after the warrantee ended it died... just stopped working (we lost all the food in it, as it was without warning). I tried to fix it by ordering parts. Danby said the parts would arrive in 7 to 10 days. After 2 months and several calls I discovered that the parts are discontinue and will no longer be produced. After complaining in a very professional way, Danby offered a 15% discount if I bought a new Danby. I told them that this was ridiculous for a product only 2 months past it's warranty. I was told this is the best they can do. Never again a Danby as long as I remain a consumer. Terrible product, terrible, customer service... and absolutely no sense of responsibility for having created this lame product. I disposed of the piece of junk myself at an additional 25$ disposal cost.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Died less than 3 months after the warranty expired It died less than 3 months after the 2 year warranty expired. The power LED on the front lasted considerably less time, so it was impossible to tell at a glance if the thing was working or not. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not purchase from Danby Purchased Danby DCF555BL in 2011 and it suddenly just stopped working a couple weeks ago. It is 4 years old and although I believe things do happen it is in doors in a clean basement so I expect it to last longer than that. But, my real issue isn't with it suddenly quitting, my issue is with the response I received from customer service from Danby in Guelph. I told her of the circumstances and her questions were, "when did you buy it and how much did you pay for it. It is no longer under warranty and it is not worth fixing. You should buy a new one. We wouldn't repair it if was under warranty, we would just replace it." I told her that I think it should last longer than 4 years, If I do purchase another one, it won't be from Danby. She responded "well that is your choice" Not a good representation of quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from danby 5.5 chest freezer I have had my Danby 5.5 freezer for 15 years and it has been perfect. No issues at all. I would highly recommend this freezer. It freezes extremely well, holds tons of food and I seldom have to defrost it (maybe once every few years if that). Defrosting is also easy...I empty the freezer, turn off the motot and chip away at the ice gently with a rubber hammer. Takes about half an hour and I am ready to reload the food. When it does go I will definitely be buying another one just like it. My sister has a larger model and has had hers even longer also with no issues.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money THE FREEZER COMPRESSOR RANDOMLY QUIT WORKING JUST MONTHS AFTER THE WARRANTY WAS UP. THE INDICATOR LIGHT STOPPED WORKING LONG BEFORE THAT. WOULD ALWAYS HAVE LOTS OF EXTRA FROST AND CRACKS IN THE PLASTIC. DANBY DOES NOT MAKE PARTS FOR IT ANYMORE SO ITS JUST A TRIP TO THE DUMP NOW. PURCHASED ONE FROM BEST BUY AND ADDED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY.

Est-il bruyant?

Asked by: Martine 27
Bonjour, Comme avec tous les appareils, le congélateur fera du bruit - surtout quand le compresseur engage, mais il ne devrait pas être assez fort pour être une distraction ou entendu dans les autres pièces
