Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am Finished with Dewalt. I bought a lineup of 20 volt Dewalt tools - blower, shop-vac, impact drill, drill, table saw, reciprocating saw plus more. Extra batteries. One of the heavy batteries quit a couple months on the job. The weed eater lasted 3 runs, and yesterday my impact drill stopped after one year. Customer follow up was no where. These tools do not stand this elderly diy. I can't imagine they will hold up for the pro. I definitely do not recommend.

From the get go the tool the tool would trip over heat switch. After approx 12 uses the tool no longer works. Tried contacting dewalt warranty but no response, my guess is they don't honor Canadians because as soon as you enter area code you are cut off and email reply has got no response. I guess I will have to throw it in the land fill and go buy another tool that will be any buddy else's but dewalt!!

Unless you're cleaning up a lawn that was previously edged in the last 10 months, this unit really won't cut it. It constant start/stops, plus having to clean caked on dirty out of the shield every ft is a pain. I would only recommend this unit for the lightest duty work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dead unit within 3 days, minimal use We bought this product 3 days ago. I assembled, did a test edge and thought this will work great. Next day, I edge my sidewalks. For the most part it works well. It was not on the deep setting and the unit struggled to get through the soil to the point where I had to slowly lower the blade into the soil numerous times. The batteries used are new (12 months), fully charged and large capacity. The lawn has not been edged in years, so I may be expecting too much. I am sure subsequent edging will go much easier. Now comes the real problem. It’s dead. The batteries were low and I wasn’t done yet. I charged both high capacity batteries and now the unit won’t turn on, sometimes the blade twitches, but other than that it’s dead. I verified batteries are fully charged by using them on the leaf blower and worked full power. I was going to return for a new one, but after seeing so many other people with the same issue, I may just return for a refund. Quite disappointed as I’ve been expanding my dewalt line of tools and lost a bit of confidence.

Can it be set to be a shallow cut to remove grass and weeds from inbetween concrete slabs in driveway?

Can this be used just on the edge of your lawn next to the flower bed ?

Yes, I use it for edging to define the flower bed and the rest of the lawn. To make it even nicer I would do two lines about 3-4 inches apart and then also use a straight edge shovel and dig deep to take out some soil and have a nice deep look. Very happy with the purchase
