These 250lbs dock float series is developed and produced by Dock Edge + making it possible to purchase a complete and compatible line fromhardware right through to the finishing touches. These floats arerotationally molded from the highest impact strength resin availablecontaining UV inhibitors and carbon black pigment to protect againstultraviolet deterioration. These resins offer a balance of toughness,rigidity, environmental stress crack resistance and low temperature impact performance. Rotationally molded floats can be used on existing docks to gain freeboard, eliminate twisting, and/or improve the levelness of the dock. They can also be utilized in new construction of timber or trussdock systems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Great! These did the job; however, we should have gotten either another 8" or all 12" floats because our little dock was very heavy, but these 2x 8" floats made it float.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Don't believe all the photos The pictures on this item show that the inside has foam. It does not. You are buying a box of air! Ignore the picture that claims there is foam. Also, there is a valve that has been screwed in with teflon tape. It does not seal. I ended up using silicone to seal it shut.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Faulty manufacturing & inappropriate design. Two gripes: 1. Bought 2 floats. Upon installation noted bubbles rising from the filler plug on the top of the first float. Uninstalled the float, and resealed the filler plug. As received it was only finger tight, and had too little Teflon tape on the threads to make a good seal. Upon inspection of the second float the same problem was observed. 2. The design of the float does not take into account the common construction techniques of wooden decks (on or off of docks). The float needs to sit between structural members that are commonly on 2-foot centers. Those structural members support deck boards that are constructed of dimensional lumber that is some multiple of 2 feet long, i.e., any center to center distance greater than 2 ft will result in wasted deck lumber. So the dimensions of the floats need to be designed to accommodate the open distance between the structural members. That is, approximately 2 inches shorter than the nominal 2 foot width and optimally the 4 foot length as well. As received, the overall size of the floats were not 24 x48 inches. Rather, they were 24 3/8 by 48 1/4. Retro-fitting to an existing dock probably will be difficult; therefore I am withholding any recommendations of these floats unless it can be determined that their odd size can be accommodated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perform exactly as advertised. Easy to attach to the frame and give a very up to water level result. I have te 8" model but that what whe wanted a unit that keep the walker near the water surface.

In overview states it is empty, in specifications states that it foam filled. Which is correct?

I am away from home so going by memory, I think it’s completely sealed. So there is no way to know but it does float :-)
