These 600lbs dock floats are rotomolded using a unique foaming process.The floats are foamed while being molded ensuring the foam bondswith the shell of the float creating a heavier impenetrable wall. This process give the dock float added wall strength and utilizesclosed cellular foam to ensure no water will be absorbed into the float. The foam application is recyclable and environmentally friendly. Idealfor commercial use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what I paid for I ordered a set of 4 Howell 600 FOAM FILLED dock floats. They arrived with the sticker that said "foamed" on each one. Unfortunatel for me, it wasn't until I had these floats framed in that I realized that they were hollow. The fittest set of 4 I purchased were foam filled, so I could certainly tell the difference. I did not get what I paid for, but it was too late for me to return. Very upset. Very disappointed with Home Depot on this. The first set was great. Second set hollow. Shipped direct from the manufacturer or not, Home Depot sold them. Not happy.

I have an issues with one of them, bought 3 of them. when i got home and inspected them i noticed one of them is missing the drain plug. Contacted the company and it has to go through a warranty claim. It will be another 6 to 8 weeks before its process.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buoyancy was perfect Used a howell titan 600 (2'x4'x16")for a 5'x12' dock ramp out of 2x6 lumber. Built on top of float, plus 1 1/2" lumber on its flat and the deck floated level to my dock (16" to top of decking on dock) and hinges lined up perfectly. Buoyancy was perfect, would recommend all day.

Very solid construction with a well designed vent system to allow the gases from the foam to bleed off as the foam cures. Perfect size and weight for one person to handle. They should last the lifetime of the dock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dock conversion priject. Used these to convert a former aluminum pole dock to a floating dock. Not a small project, but I won't be hauling those aluminum frames and pole in and out of the lake twice a year from now on.

What is the required diameter size of the lag bolt to secure the float to the frame?

Use a 5/16" Lag Bolt w a flat washer, more then enough to hold the weight of the float. Holes are about 3/8". But a 3/8" lag bolt would be tight and way overkill for this.
