I think it could use a pad to distribute the weight even though the SRM-225 is really light. That's why 4 stars, but all metal clips, swivel, clamp and wingnut... that's why 4 stars. Good design!

Do the straps go over both shoulders or just one ?

You can buy a shoulder strap that will go over one shoulder, but I find that I have greater movement and control without it.
