Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Thermostat on the Market! I live in Nova Scotia and this year we had a very cold and long winter. In the fall I had installed the ecobee3. The ecobee saved us a lot of money this winter. Despite it being substantially colder this year my heating costs were a little below last year. To me that's impressive. With the remote sensor the ecobee3 knows when I'm there and when I'm not. If I set a schedule that has me home between certain times the ecobee is smart enough to know that nobody is home and the set the system to away. So, I think the savings delivered over the course of this winter had a lot to do with the ecobee3 actually knowing when I'm there and adjusting accordingly. The product itself is beautifully designed and the accompanying app and Web portal give you full control and accessibility no matter where you are.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy customer I was unsure at the time about doing the installation myself due to lack of inexperience, but I reviewed the installation guide and after watching the official ecobee3 installation videos on YouTube, I was able to get the ecobee3 and included power extender kit set up quite easily! Now that we’ve been operating the ecobee3 for a few months, we couldn’t be happier with our choice. I’m fascinated with the wireless remote sensor features and being able to optimize comfort and savings based on respective room temperatures and how often they’re occupied. I also appreciate being able to review all the data that is gathered and displayed in meaningful ways (Runtime reports, community comparisons, etc.) on the Home IQ web portal. There have been times when we’ve left the house during a set Home period in our schedule this winter and forgot to drop the temperature, but then realized we can enable our Away settings using the mobile app’s Quick Changes or come home later in the day to notice that Smart Away kicked in to save us money while we were out. These are just a few moments of charm that have reinforced our high level of satisfaction with the ecobee3 and I would highly recommend it to any home owner.

The ecobee3 is a breath of fresh air. It was simple to install both in the furnace and on the wall. It took a bit of time to set it up as I was not used to the various options, but it was not difficult. It took a bit of time to set it up as I was not used to the various options, but it was not difficult. ecobee3 pros: ·It's easy to install ·It looks great on the wall ·I like the screen, when I walk into the room I can see the temperature clearly and the weather (Although I’m not always happy with the weather outside). ·The options screen is very useful for making lifestyle adjustments that were not possible with any thermostat I have had previously. ·It’s very easy to adjust and operate ·The humidity reading on the screen is helpful as well so that I can adjust it to create a healthier environment in my house. ·The mobile app access is excellent. The ability to adjust on the fly and / or when away – as I often forget before I leave – is a huge help. ·I have had problems with my home Internet. The email notifications have actually helped resolve that issue as well as a security system problem, as I didn’t know the house was not continuously monitored when away as the internet was down. This was an unexpected bonus. ·We have microclimates (cool/warm areas of the house) that seem to be somewhat mitigated since the installation. ·The remote sensors are an excellent idea. I actually need two more and will get them soon. ·I am anxious to see how it helps me out once the A/C is on this summer. I find my system runs continuously and am cold in some parts of the house and too warm in others. I will update on this front. Overall, I think that this is a great product. I have already seen some cost savings. As I said earlier, the A/C will tell the story. My hydro bills are through the roof in the summer and anything will help. For me this is a 5 star product so far. I intend to install one in my cottage this summer and would recommend it to all of my friends.
