Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lacks proper instructions, so here is what I did. INSTRUCTIONS (will also attempt to add photos): Step 1: Mark it 1’-0” off the back wall and however high you want it at. Usually allow for minimum 3’-6” for shirts. Use a stud finder to figure out if there’s a stud nearby you could use as support, otherwise you might want to consider adding plywood backing or a 2x4 first. Step 2: Unscrew the set screw and black plastic off the bar. There are screws hidden behind the black plastic!! Step 3: Screw the matching metal U-cup end piece to the wall (where you had the mark) Step 4: Screw the small black plastic piece into the middle of the U-cup with the set screw pointing up. Step 5: Install the bigger black plastic piece to the opposite wall where you have your other mark. Set screw doesn’t have to point up but make sure both black plastic pieces are level to each other before installing. Step 6: Slide two rod pieces together and mount the big side into the big black plastic piece using a set screw. Step 7: Slide and install the matching metal (full circle) cover plate onto the bigger black plastic piece and screw into wall. Step 8: Slide small end into the smaller black plastic piece and use set screw to secure it. Good luck! Hopefully this will save you a lot time and headache. Took us way too long to figure out but works great now.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Look nice, but no way to adjust to size Looks nice, sturdy, good steel. But there is not way to adjust the length and fix in place. There is a screw hole provided, but you would need a self tapping screw to fix the poles to the length you desire. Poor planning...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Install Super easy install. I luckily had some studs in the closet that I was able to drill the plastic brackets directly into. Plastic brackets aren't the most ideal but they seem fine once installed and I'm not concerned. My closet is only 43" so I just didn't fully extend it. Locket the width of the bar in place by screwing in the two smaller screws that held the rods together in packaging

Instructions recommend to use support brackets every 16 inches. What have you used?

Asked by: CMJJ
We recommend to install to wall studs every 16 inches, to maintain the maximum weight rating and ensure the safety and operation as intended of the kits.

It says a support rod is recommended every 16 inches. That indicates the rod has no strength at all Is that distance a typo?

Asked by: Corum337
16" support rods are recommended for safety. Even if you were to use a solid steal rod you would need supports, with strength comes weight and also a safety issue as getting wacked in the head with a hallow rod may hurt a little a solid steel rod to the head...well worst case, you know! Application and usage can be considered. If your closet is sparse and you don't feel you need to support as much or at all that is your call. I would still recommend at least one center support to prevent bowing over time.

What is the difference between this heavy duty rod and this one? https://www.homedepot.ca/product/everbilt-48-inch-to-72-inch-adjustable-closet-rod-in-white/1000676073# And do I need to buy sockets ? Thanks

Asked by: kaitlin
The heavy duty pole is made of a thicker 1.25mm walled construction. The maximum weight that the pole can support is still ultimately determined by the brackets positioned every 16" on studs, which is 500lbs.

Description reads adjustable from 42 inch to 72 inch, but specification reads 48 inch to 72 inch. Which one is right? I'm looking for something that will fit a 43 inch space

Asked by: Naga
Naga - This is 48"- 72" inch adjustable closet pole. We apologize for any confusion and will have this updated ASAP!

Is this rod 1-1/4 or 1-5/16? Trying to understand if it is compatible with these sockets (Everbilt 1 5/16-inch Heavy Duty Closet Pole Sockets in Brushed Nickel) and supports (Everbilt 11-1/4 in. Heavy-Duty Brushed Nickel Shelf and Rod Bracket)?

Asked by: MGMG
MGMG - That socket can be used, but it won't really fit properly and will not look as expected. The 1-3/8" pole socket is the size you'd want for it to seat and look as desired.

I’m having a similar issue to John. There was screws with the rod but no way to secure the rod so I won’t slide back out of the rod holder.  What mounting hardware is supposed to be included with the rod?

Asked by: Kevin
Kevin - The installation screws are tapped to the inside of the rod. If you are missing them, please contact our customer service team at Customer.Service@KV.com
