Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Assemble - Solid Frame I was really impressed with this kit - these screens are much sturdier than the ones that came installed new in my windows. The instructions are easy to follow and anyone can assemble this. A good hacksaw blade will work to cut the frame pieces well, I recommend clamping them down and a guide for a clean cut. You can use the knife blade they provide to clean up any burs on the inside edge before snapping them together with the corner pieces. The frame edges click into place firmly and securely. Adding the screen and seal goes great with the tool provided in the kit, then just trim off the excess. The finished product seems higher quality than the screens supplied with my windows. Great product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good except the roller can't be lowered Overall good and easy to assemble but the roller turns out a big issue. In my case, no matter how I adjust the roller screw at the side of the frame, it won't raise the door at all. Seems the weight of the door can't be supported by the roller spring. The door pretty much sitts directly on the track, with no room for the roller to roll. Opening and closing the door therefore are very hard since the roller flushes with the bottom frame due to the weak spring or malfunctioning adjust screw. I did try to adjust all 4rollers, none of them can be lowered.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No instruction, so needs patience. Bought this to replace a rickety cheap model. Although the package was sealed, there were no instructions of any kind inside. Fairly straight forward though, a couple of side cuts to get reduce the length by a couple of inches. However adjustment of the rollers was still needed to make it fit, and with no instructions, this was a significant problem. Took a couple of hours to figure out. (There is a side screw adjustment outside top and bottom to raise and lower the rollers). Once that was clear, rest of install went well. Looks nice, and is much more sturdy than previous door.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good DIY project. This screen turned out well despite me making a few mistakes along the way - including cutting the lengths too short. I was able to fix that by cutting short spacers from the off cuts. Adjusting the wheels at the end was a bit of a pain - awkward to get the screwdriver in, but afterwards the screen moved nicely. My only complaint is that the instructions don't say how to measure to get the right size. Luckily I was able to Google instructions from another company.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer beware! I did a test assembly straight out of the box and the frame was warped. I tried flexing it flat, twisting more than 45 degrees the opposite way, as much as I dared, and it was a bit better. After cutting and final assembly, sure enough the warp came back. Result is that the door binds and comes off the rails. No amount of adjustment fixed it. Almost two hundred dollars and a whole afternoon down the drain. Straight to the garbage. Better off paying a professional. Lesson learned!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The supplied spline tool is the best This product was the perfect solution for a replacement for a damaged window screen. I used the original screen as a template and cut the pieces 38 mm shorter than the final size needed to account for the corner connectors. I cut the sides 2 pairs at a time with my mitre saw but a hack saw would do the job quickly as well. Taping the whole construct to a counter made it easier to align the screen for sizing and trimming. Then I taped the screen to the counter on one side. The supplied curved spline tool was perfect for pushing the spline into the groove easily and smoothly. I can't say enough about how good that tool is for securing the screen to the frame. A quick cut of the excess screen and it was done. This is an easy job that anyone can do and it took me less than 30 minutes start to finish.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Quality! I’ve used Peak products in the past, so I had high expectations for this product..once again they didn’t disappoint in product quality. This screen door is substantially stronger than my screen door that came with my patio door. The robust extruded aluminum railing and separate extruded aluminum corner brackets really give this door a solid feeling compared to my old screen door with mitered corners and thinner railings. The extra rigidity really helps to stop racking in the door which can lead to it jumping off the tracks. In terms of the instructions—I feel this is the one place Peak Products could do a little better. Two examples would be, where exactly to measure the door---cut the door too short & it’s ruined. So perhaps some close-up pictures or an installation video of where exactly to measure would help inexperienced installers. The other example would be the need to trim the rubber vertical gasket in the areas of the patio door window frame where it tends to bind up. On that note, I really like the scored lines on the rubber gasket to give you a nice straight line to trim against and give a professional finished look. I luckily had the old screen door and was able to measure against it—I ended up taking or 3 ¼” not 3 1/2” as per the instructions—3 ½” probably would have fit ok, but I decided to err on the side of caution-easier to take another cut if required than ruin it by taking too much. I used a piece of masking tape to mark my cut to make it easier to see. I cut the aluminum rails with my Miter Saw—no problem at all. Assembly was a breeze—ensure the corners pull snugly together. Dry fit is a must before installing the screen, make sure it fits now. The installation of the screen itself is something I had never done before and it actually turned out to be quite easy (screen installation tool (spline roller) is included in the box). Keep the spline as one piece and go all the way around the frame-I kept a little bit of tension on the screen when installing with one hand as I used the other to roll the spline into place. I was able to get a nice tight-fitting screen on the first try. When installing the screen an extra set of hands is helpful to pop the guide wheels in at the bottom—remember top of the screen in first on installation, bottom out first on removal. Overall, I am really impressed with the 30” Sliding door Screen replacement kit & would recommend this to anyone looking to replace their screen door.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Replacement We purchased this door kit after our sliding door frame was damaged. It was a 2 person job to put together and we were very careful as you really only get one chance to cut the length. If you take your time, follow the instructions on the box and pay attention to your measurements, this door kit is great. The only issue I would point out is that the door is a little more narrow than our sliding track so sometimes in order to fully close it we have to pull the handle slightly in. Minor issue and a great alternative to replacing the whole patio door since sliding doors appear to be very hard to come by. Would definitely purchase this product in the future and would recommend to a friend.

If I buy the 36 inch wide door, how deep is the rubber flap on the far edge of the door from the handle? Because my door opening is 34.5 inches, I am concerned that bugs can get around that last 1.5 inches if the flap doesn't reach the window of the door

Asked by: Jim K
The rubber flap is 1 1/2” wide/deep.  In my case, the frame beyond the door opening has a raised section so when the screen is closed, the flap rides up onto the raised part of the frame, making a tight seal from bugs getting in.  Even when my screen door is 1” open ( at the handle side) the flap makes a tight seal with the unraised part of the frame.

I installed this but my wheels keep coming off the track. Is there something with the screw at the side to adjust the wheels? this isn't explained anywhere.

Asked by: bob27
Yes, the screws should lift or drop the wheels to adjust to your need.

Does this door have 4 rollers, 2 on top, 2 on bottom? From the picture I can only see 1 on top and 1on bottom.

Asked by: Barcat
Yes, 4 rollers. And they are adjustable and need to be adjusted once installed to get the door rolling smoothly.
