Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely disappointing I used to have a LG side by side and I loved it. My cloths came out very clean so I figured I couldn't go wrong with the LG WashTower. Boy was I wrong. The washing machine does not get my cloths as clean as the side by side one did even with the turbo setting. Stains don't come out even with Javax. I have to put the dryer on twice or have it on the hottest setting for my dark lots to get dry. Oh and you don't want to know what the delivery men thing about the double weight of the Washtower compared to the side by side machines. I would never usually leave a bad review on a product but when I spend this kind of money, I felt it necessary.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from “Hand Wash/Wool” setting shrunk my sweater We bought our WashTower a year ago. I was excited about all of the different wash settings. I washed a “machine washable wool sweater” using the “hand wash/wool” setting and it shrunk and felted my sweater. This is a sweater that I washed on cold using “permanent press” in my very old top loader with no issue. Customer service at LG is horrendous. I am on my 3rd call with them to see if they are able to check the downloaded machine wash settings (manual said this wash should be 34 minutes and default to cold - my machine defaults to warm and runs for 1:01). This is not what I expected at all from a company like LG.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Space saving and affordable I just recently setup my WashTower, and it is running successfully. The parts included in the package were exactly what I needed to install the product. The product is quiet as well which was another feature I did not exactly expect. My dryer vent is at the bottom, however in the manual it says to have the dryer vent at the top... I will have to call in to see if they will accept the dryer vent at the bottom as most people will have a traditional dryer vent near the floor. I did purchase the extended warranty to give myself some more peace of mind incase something happens in the next 4 years, and at the price online for Canada, it was quite affordable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dryer cord is too short Just got it a couple of days ago and only used it once so far. Just thought I'd point out that the dryer power cord is attached to the top of the unit and doesn't reach my receptacle just above the baseboard. I needed to get an electrician to move the plug. Kind of a poor design that the cord can't even reach the floor. I reviewed the manual prior to purchase but it only references the length of the washer cord. It will be fine if your 220v outlet is a half-meter from the ground as long as you place the unit directly in front of it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Few Annoyances We bought this tower as a space saver and it's great for that. However, there are a few things that bother me about this product. One is that when you use the dryer, lint collects around the ring of the door as well as the ring where the door meets the dryer unit. I have to wipe off the the lint before I remove the clothes because who wants lint all over their newly cleaned and dried clothes. ;) My second annoyance it that I find that it doesn't always fully dry my clothes even though I change the dryer setting to very dry. I'm thinking this as a defect in the product but not completely sure. Any thoughts???

Found out the supplied cord for the dryer does not even come to the ground so cannot reach the existing outlet. Most homes around here with main floor laundry rooms all had the outlets installed at the floor level when the homes were initially constructed. An extra 2 feet of cord would be all that is needed to rectify this problem. In order to use it, I need to have an electrician come to install a second outlet a couple of feet higher than the existing one. Take a close look at your services before you buy this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from some good some not so good Let me start with what I LOVE - it's compact, it's sleek and the washer is the bomb. What I don't love is that the dryer sensors are too sensitive and the clothes in the back don't always dry as I would like. I had someone come out and take a look and they said there is nothing wrong, that's just how it is. He suggested running it for a longer time... That defeats the purpose doesn't it? I also don't like that I can't see how to run clothes through an extra spin cycle - my load came out too wet and I had to run it through a whole wash cycle again.. technology is great but not when it takes away choice.

I never thought I would go with a stackable unit but this tops everything I've previously owned. It is quiet, uses less detergent/fabric softener and quick. When we went to use the dryer the first time it was giving us a D90 code, researched the code and it was due to our vent being full. Cleaned the duct and vent and works great. Good feature to have. Also I'm short at 5'2 and the controls are in the middle of the units so it's an easy reach for me. Dryer remembers the setting from the washer which is nice.

Does this come with stacking kit, or does it need to be purchased separately

It does not require a stacking kit. It is one unit. The washer (on the bottom) and the dryer (on the top) are not separate machines.

Does the washer get a bad smell or get mouldy?

Washer might get bad smell or mouldy do to incorrect use or no proper maintenance. Best recommendation is to run tub clean at least once for every use and leave the door open to ensure moisture won't create such inappropriate odor and mold build up.

I am desperately looking for a dimensional drawing showing the exact location of the dryer vent for this model, WKEX200HBA, so we can complete the rough-in work before purchase and delivery. Have contacted LG. support twice without success.

So the output for the dryer venting is just above midway on the machine. It is at the base of the dryer section just above the water outlets of the washing machine section. The vent diameter is about 4” and the bottom half of the vent output rests at about the 38.5” from the floor. I hope that helps. You will also need a flexible vent hose if you have a narrow space behind the machine.
