Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tool I am a great fan of Makita tools. This router has been in my mind for a few yrs, just hard to justify the expense of some tools. I have used it a number of times now and mostly, I love it. The D handle is the best way to hold a router in my mind. It has plenty of power and the slow start is great.I have only one complaint, and that is- No spindle lock! Of all things to leave out of a great tool. Makita has to step up to this and add the lock! using 2 wrenches is a pain! I would have given a 5 star if it were not for that. I do recommend this tool for anyone though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong router perfect handling pistol grip handle Powerful, love the slow start. Love the pistol grip handle, makes the larger bits easy to handle. Too much plastic, don’t drop it.

Shank is 1/2"?

Same question ...looked online and Makita states - "Accepts 1/2" and 1/4" shank bits"
