Rated 5 out of 5 by from please read before buying The one-star reviews that say the torque is too low don't know how to use the tool. The tool has 4 torque modes: mode 1, mode 2, mode 3, and the drill symbol for mode 4. the drill logo on the tool is not the same as a drill. Mode 4 does not go full speed and torque Mode 4 is auto stop mode. It automatically stops the tool from working the bolt when the tool starts impacting the bolt. The auto stop feature only does 15-foot pounds. Auto-stop mode is just to get the nut quickly fastened on the bolt before using a torque wrench to a hand tool to finish the job. Mode 3 does 250 lbs. not mode 4

Then after about a week of using it the socket retaining clip got jammed and I had to use a pry bar to get the socket off. Ever since then the clip is bent. Eventually I just removed the clip and now the sockets just fall off. Was one of first Milwaukee purchases and it will definitely be my last. Their customer service has been terrible and I can't get a response back from any help line emails. Sticking to Dewalt from now on...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful, compact, holds charge I've used this the impact wrench for changing out 4 sets of summer tires for winter tires on 4 cars. The wrench hesitated on only one of the 80 nuts I took off. Otherwise, they spun off quickly. Very impressed. Putting the nuts back on was no problem. I used the auto-stop / auto tight feature. Still used a torque wrench for final settings. The battery was down to about 50% after taking off and putting on 80 nuts.

My husband is 65 and we bought this impact wrench to help him loosen some nuts and give him a break. We loosen and retorqued a lug nut to 110 ft lb to test the tool....it couldn't budge the nut?? Waiting to hear back from Milwaukee but in the meantime I would not recommend this tool at all.

But unfortunately, it cannot remove the all 4 wheel locks and plus 50% of the wheel lug nut. I torque all nut to 100 ft lb 6 months ago. Waiting to hear back from Milwaukee but in the meantime I would not recommend this tool at all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lacks Power - Can't removed 103 ft.lbs Nuts Bough this on a deal with a free battery to loosen my wife's wheel nuts when we change tires rather than using a breaker bar on her car. The nuts were torqued to 140 Nm (103 ft-lbs) last season, and this impact wrench can't budge them. It claims 250 ft-lbs of breakaway torque, but it just can't break them loose. This isn't a truck, just a car and I was using the larger XC4.0 battery not the small XC2.0. Very disappointed as I like the size and weight, but if it can't provide the power over a driver, whats the point?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Goodbye Air Tools Long gone are the days where the traditional sound of air tools pierce the air in modern shops. Sure, there are still times when guys will grab their air powered die grinders, but it is extremely rare to see anyone stringing airlines all over the place to run impact wrenches anymore. With a small impact like this, why would you even bother anymore. This thing had got the power for most automotive work and when it doesn’t Milwaukee makes several options that will. The 2554-20 3/8” M12 impact is the right choice.

Have a bunch of Snap-On 14.4v tools, but have already had one of their brushed motors fail with just over a year of use (which was outside Snap-On’s pitiful 1yr warranty). With the rise of Milwaukee’s brushless Fuel line I feel they have the edge and I’ve already added a 1/4” ratchet which I also love. Smoother, quieter and priced well. This 3/8” packs plenty of power and the stubby head profile really improves accessibility and the overall balance of the tool.

Can I change tires with this?

I use it to remove and reinstall the tires on my 3 atvs.....Ford escape and explorer as well as my Toyota yaris. So yes it's more than able to remove and reinstall those lug nuts..just check them with a torque wrench when done reinstalling..
