Lag Bolts are also called Lag Screws and are recommended for all types of wood or metal to wood construction where standard wood or deck screws are too short or light and where nails or spikes lack sufficient strength. They can be installed in wood with pre-drilled pilot holes or in masonry with Lag Shields. In wood to wood applications the non-threaded shank allows the second piece to be drawn tightly to the first piece of wood. Flat or fender washers are suggested to provide a larger bearing surface and to prevent the head of the lag bolt from imbedding in the first piece of wood. Hot dipped galvanized finish provides one of the highest degree of corrosion resistance when compared to a steel zinc finish. Ideal for outdoor projects such as decks, fences, wood structures and with treated lumber installations.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WARNING!!!! Years ago DIY and contractors use these lag bolts as structural fasteners (ex) ledger board, decking etc . However the market is now flooded with actual structural bolts and no need to use lag bolts. The bigger sizes may be ok but the smaller size dangerous if using to hold up anything structural. It shears off at low torque and possibly due to quality.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dissapointed Was dissapointed a few sheared off at the head. A couple did not even make it all the way into the lumber before shearing off. I was going into HD pressure treated lumber so nothing extremely dense.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Home Depot online shopping sucks. Your online store sucks so hard. I bought the wrong bolt because your pictures suck and so does your selection of items. Online order only pickup is a joke. You home Depot disappointed me. I ordered off Amazon and China provided me with the hardware I needed. Don't become the blockbuster of the hardware world. Just sad

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bon boulon, mais dimension différente Je n'ai pas eu des boulons de la même dimension. Une chance que j'avais quelques boulons déjà en ma possession. Probablement un problème d'étiquetage des pièces.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good in some applications Be careful with these bolts. Pre drill and make sure there are no knots in the wood as it is very easy to snap them in half.
