Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sika construction adhesive Just picked up a tube today to repair a slate tile on my swimming pool. The panic set in when I noticed to tile laying on the bottom of my pool. I thought that this was going to be a huge job as far as drain the pool down and the cement the tile and then grout the area. The information I receive was that this process would take about a week to repair and allow the tile to set and cure. The weather is crazy hot and a week without the pool is just to long. So I surfed the net and found a few things in the USA that would allow me to repair the tile underwater but nothing like that in Ontario,Canada. So I looked at different adhesive compounds and this brand was by far the best thing for what I needed. The repair was super fast after the water was drained down to a spot that I could work and the area was dry and would stay dry for the time needed to cure. So the product was so easy to use, it was thick and set up fast. The tile stuck with ease, I reinforced the tile with two pieces of tape to hold the tile in place till the adhesive cures. The peel the tape off and finished. I checked on the adhesive about 30 mins after I had applied it and the surface was already dry to the touch. So far I am sold on this product and can’t wait till tomorrow(24 hrs) from the time I finished the repair. To refill the water I took out and back to swimming 6 days before I would be if I had of use the cement and grout method. Now this is great for the repair that I needed it for but not to say that the other way is wrong, just this product seems so perfect. And works with salt water and Chlorine pools . I had also placed and few more rocks around the pool and held them down with the adhesive as well. I love that the adhesive comes in white and gray. My pool is a Gray colour and so the gray adhesive matched perfect. Maybe at some point a underwater adhesive may be sold by this company. Great product. Will let you know the final finish and if I am still happy. Cheers

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent stair adhesive I bought this this adhesive after reading reviews on a carpenters’ message board. I used it to glue solid oak stairs before nailing. I like the consistency (it feels heavy duty, even in the caulking gun) and it washes off skin with soap and warm water. It dries well and, when set, is like hard rubber. It definitely sticks. I’d recommend this product.

Thank you for your inquiry. This would depend on the brand and material. Will not bond to polyethylene, polypropylene, and polystyrene. We would recommend doing test patch.

Can this product be used to fill and seal a small crack on the outside of my house, where a bit of water is coming in?

Can I adhere mosaic and ceramic tiles on exterior brick walls?

Hi, yes, Sikabond is the correct product for this application. Only limitations is if said ceramic and mosaic ties are to be glued in an overhead application. Also, please be sure to support the tiles for al least 3 hours while gluing them to be sure that perfect adhesion is achieved. As per the use of the product I’ll refer you to our technical data sheet: Surface Prep: Clean all surfaces. Surface must be sound, clean, dry, frost-free, and free of oil and grease. Curing compound residues and any other foreign matter must be thoroughly removed. Application: Recommended application temperatures: 4 to 38 °C (40 to 100 °F). For cold weather application, condition material to 65 to 75 °F (18 to 24 °C) before using. Cut plastic tip of nozzle to desired size and puncture airtight seal at base of tip. Force adhesive onto bonding surface. Use as spread, bead or for spot bonding. Heavier substrates may require additional support during the cure period. CleanUp: Clean all tools and equipment with Sika® Urethane Thinner and Cleaner. Once hardened, product can only be removed mechanically. Wash soiled hands and skin thoroughly in hot soapy water or use Sika® Hand Cleaner towels.

Will this bond to aluminum

Sikaflex construction sealant bonds very well to aluminium. It also bonds very well to porous materials like concrete and brick or wood or non porous material like glass. The most important thing is to make sure that the surfaces are clean before applying the sealant.

Is this suitable for repairing cracks in asphalt driveway?

If the asphalt is old in the sense that there is almost no tar in the crack, it probably will work. If there is tar, then the tar will eat up the polyurethane edges.
