Gate kit includes: 6 inch L inch Brackets to construct a gate frame out of 2x4 lumber. 2 self closing hinges, 1 thum latch either one way or two way with locking mechanism, 2 decorative rubber straps with screws to emulate either the stringers for a vertical style gate or channels rfor the horizontal style gate.

To be fastened to Slipfence aluminum posts SF2-PK309

Easy to assemble and easy to install. Easily connects to square aluminum posts. Instructions included in kit.

Requires two - 2 x 4 x 48 inch long wood peices for the height of your gate frame and two- 2 x 4 ft.s cut to the desired width of your gate and one 2 x 4 it to be cut to fit as a cross member (diagonal corner to corner, (see Slipfence gate installation video).

For Vertical shadow box style - requires 3 fence boards per foot (width) NOT INCLUDED

For Horizontal Gate - requires 13 deck boards 5/4 inch x width of gate, NOT INCLUDED

This is a Kit only with all components except the wood to create a custom gate for your Slipfence project.

Can the gate be opened from both sides? i.e. Is there a thumb push-down on the hand handle to de-latch the lock?

Hi, thank you for the question, sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately, our gate hinges only operate 1 way. We do not offer a "saloon door" type of hinge. Yes, the gate kit includes a thumb latch.

How many kits would I need to purchase for a gate that is 10-12 ft? Would this product work?

Zero. Avoid this product! First of all, it comes with nylon hinges. Gate was put in 1 week ago and it is already starting to sag. My gate opening is only 42 inches wide. Secondly, this gate kit has been poorly designed. You have to spend time notching out your 2x4 pieces in order for the 90 degree metal brackets to sit flush to the wood, paint on latch (where the two pieces of metal slide over each other when gate closes) has started to come off and rust, and kit did not come with enough screws for completion of assembly. The rubber strip to complete metal look is a joke. One good thing about Slipfence is the great quality of their aluminum poles. I am very happy with them so far. Slipfence should be embarrased to have this product as their choice for a compatible gate kit that goes with their superior fence system.
