Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mispriced item $75+ at HD .. I just found it at two stores in smaller towns in Quebec, where you'd expect it to be higher priced. One had it at $45 and the other at $34. $75 for 10 is $7.50 / M. When they sell the 75 metere is is about $3.50 / M. What's worse their 5M sold at nearly $12 /M (going from memory of what I saw in the store because it's not listed on-line. I bought, what I needed, 7M at $3.55 / M. Lookout, HD is not always anywhere near competitive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Electrical Cable... What Can I Say? It's electrical cable... It does what it's supposed to! As with most electrical cables that are spooled (either on a spool or shorter lengths manually spooled) getting the twisting out is the most irritating and time-consuming part. Good quality cable though.

Can I use this for 120 or will it be a code violation ?

Asked by: Kenny
Each time a hot wire is connected to the panel on the same electrical circuit, it functions as a series connection meaning voltage is added. Connecting both red and black to their respective breakers creates a 240v connection. If you only need one of these wires, get correct wiring instead. The Code instructs a tidy and proper job is required. For 120v general household wiring you would use 14/2 instead (for things like lights, normal outlets/plugs). The red wiring here is for things like connecting a dryer, or baseboard heater. Recommend consulting with an electrician for more info.

This has black and red, no white. Any code issue connecting red as neutral? Looks odd.

Asked by: Bob71
The 12/2 black/red is used for 220/240v applications (no white/neutral wire) if you need 12/2 black/white for 110/120v, they do make this.
