Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thoroughly Impressed I poured a concrete counter top several months a go. I was unhappy with the sealer I originally used. Used this and was very happy with the results. Easy to follow instructions. Worth the single page read. Several videos I watched prior to using showed people using a paint stick used on edge to move the material around. I had one very rough and stony counter and one smooth with air bubble pockets. All my counters totaled 34 sqf. One box covered all of it wish very little excess. Several passes was needed to fill holes. I used newspaper to section off my area but some epoxy still hit my vinyl flooring. It was easy to remove with a floor scraper tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful I had a really ugly worn out laminate countertop and a new counter was not in the budget at the time. I didn't use the whole line however, I lightly sanded the counter and cleaned with TSP then I used Rustoleum Universal Metallic spray paint in oil rubbed bronze though any color would work. Read instructions for epoxy until you know them. Watch videos of people doing epoxy countertops on youtube until you feel comfortable with a method that will work. Have everything ready before you start and DO NOT mix until you are sure you are 100% ready to start, there is no pause button and once you mix you have to start right away. Take your time, but work fast and be ready to spend a few hours with your counter smoothing drips from the underside. An important thing to remember is to ALLOW the epoxy to self level once you lay it down and get it close. Don't keep going back in to try to 'fix' waves and lumps, if your epoxy is well mixed and hasn't started setting up it will self level. Also don't do this if your home is a construction zone wait until stuff is cleaned up and there is no dust, or close off your kitchen from the rest of the home and clean then allow dust and particles to settle so they will not be in the air/settle on your epoxy surface.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Refinishing Concrete Kitchen Countertops I refinished my kitchen concrete countertops with 3 layers of this product after wet grinding the surface to 200 grit. Make sure the surface is entirely sealed if porous, such as concrete, or you’ll be battling air bubbles through multiple coats. I ended up using some JB Weld to seal a couple old cracks at the start and then used some after the second coat to seal any remaining holes created by air bubbles coming up through the concrete.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst product ever. Whole Stone Effect line for countertop renovation is a garbage. If you want to renew your countertop...just get new countertop. First, Step 1/2/3 Stone Effect- it is just impossible to get even coverage, very hard product to work with. Second, Don’t expect that after all you will get stone hard surface, epoxy doesn’t get that hard, ever. Whatever you place on, small appliances, dishes, even tea cups will leave pressed marks on it n

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stoneffects: Make your counters shiny and lumpy! We bought this to use the clear epoxy to cover a beautiful and smooth wooden counter top we made. Sadly, despite lots of time put into smoothing it, we're left with a very dimpled wavy look. The boards were super smooth and level and now we're left with a a super shiny board that looks like it has acne scars!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This has to be a "sample" product!!! Given the amount at $66+ and a coverage of barely 200 sq feet, I would only say this should be a sample product given out for free.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Total garbage Total waste of money. Bought this to go over concrete counter top. Let base dry for over 4 hours and then top coat. Then in the morning after 10 hours of top coat drying peeled painters tape off that was protecting the cabinets and the entire top coat and bottom coat peeled off the countertops in places. What a waste of time and money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unable to use I wasn't able to use this. It had leaked and there were missing items. Clearly returned by someone else previously. Waiting for the stores to open for a return.

can you thin this some brush it on to seal wood for boat seats so it is water proof from the weather and will not rott etc

Asked by: comet424
Hi Comet424, We do not recommend our Countertop Coating for your boat seats. It is not UV stable and is for kitchen applications only. For your boat seats, we recommend our Varathane Diamond Wood Finish exterior in oil based for your project.

Hello! Would I be able to paint with acrylic on top of the countertop, and then apply this clear finish? If yes, what primer should I use as a first step? thank you for your help. ioana

Asked by: ioana
Hi Ioana, As long as the acrylic paint has fully cured, you can then use our Counterrtop Coating to finish it. That being said, we do not test our products with other manufacturers so it is always best to test on a small area first. In regards to a primer, we do not have one for countertops unfortunately.
