The Viagrow Horticultural grade perlite increases water absorption and aeration when added to soil and soilless growing media. Viagrow Horticultural perlite is commonly used alone for a completely inert hydroponic medium with good capillary and air retention properties, perlite can also be added to any medium to improve texture or combined with COIR (coconut fiber) and bulk granular fertilizers for a customized planting medium.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As advertised. Great for homemade potting soil mix Although take the advise on the back of the bag and either wear a good mask or wet it down before using. This stuff throws off a lot of dust when pouring out of the bag for the first time. Otherwise, a good economic product. I'll usually mix with compost and peat moss (1:2:2 perlite, compost, peat moss) to make bulk potting soil for the patio garden each year. One bag like this will do for several years, so be aware of the storage space. The bag is very light, but is over 3 feet tall and a foot deep.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice big bag of Perlite It's a huge bag of Perlite and will probably last me a few years. I have over 30 grow bags for my vegetable garden this year. My perlite was shipped from the U.S. directly to Canada, so it took awhile to get it. The perlite is very dusty so either wear a respirator or pour it outside with the breeze blowing away from you. This product is great for mixing your own potting mix, or just adding more perlite to your existing potting soil for your herbs.
