How often do you have to reapply it after the initial application?

Asked by: morah315
Hi morah315, If you notice the surface looks drier than normal or there is no longer a sheen, you can reapply another coat of our Watco Butcher Block Oil & Finish as maintenance. This will help to improve the appearance while sealing and protecting the surface all over again. Prior to re-coating, after a good clean, lightly scuff sand with #400 grit sandpaper. Allow 72 hours, after application, prior to normal use.

I recently purchased the Acacia full length lamella, clear which says it is pre-finished with a hard wax oil. It says it is stained but not sealed and it’s up to the installer to do so. Can I use the Watco butcher block oil and finish as the sealant?

Asked by: Tamara
Hi Tamara, We recommend testing our Watco Bitcher Block Oil & Finish on a small area first as nothing will adhere to wax.

What is the difference between Watco oil and conditioner and Watco oil and finish?

Asked by: Bretzky
Hi Bretzky, Our Watco Butcher Block & Oil and Conditioner seals, conditions and protects wood cutting boards, butcher blocks, bowls, and utensils from drying and cracking. Our Watco Butcher Block Oil & Finish can be used afterwards for maintenance when the wood starts to weather after heavy use.

Is this oil good for oak table?

Asked by: Jlo29
Hi, Great question! Our Butcher Block Oil & Finish can be applied to an oak table. Make sure to test on a small area first. Just keep in mind, a clear finish is better suited for a table to protect against scratches and damages.

Can I use this this product on my newly purchased 1.5" Bamboo Countertop from Home depot ( with installed sink and electric cooktop )?

Asked by: A1975
Hi, Great question! Yes, our Butcher Block Oil & Finish is suitable for a bamboo countertop. Just keep in mind, countertops get washed and wiped daily, so the oil will need to be reapplied more often as maintenance. Bamboo is very dense and hard and may not absorb as much oil compared to other types of wood. As well, make sure to test on a small area first.
