The Z-Flex 4 Inch Horizontal Vent Kit in stainless steel contains the basic components required to vent a tankless water heater through an outside wall. A back-flow preventer is included for cold climates to help prevent freezing of the water heaters internal piping during cold weather. Includes: 4-in diam. Termination Hood, 4-in diam. x 90 Degree Elbow, 4-in diam. x 1-ft Straight Pipe, 4-in diam. x 1.5-ft Straight Pipe, 4-in diam. Wall Thimble, and 4-in diam. Appliance Adapter with Backflow Preventer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Required adaptation. The pipe is not double walled. The rubber seal feature is nice because it saves caulking. I was only able to use 3/5 pieces because the remainder did not work well inside the building, although the O/H furnace was close. Would have been pore useful if the 90 degree piece was adjustable to various angles (which is what I had to buy additionally to finish the job). The piece which contains the flutter valve was too long the inside of my wall (6" studs + 1/2 drywall + OSB + vinyl siding). To make it fit, I was forced to use the old wall plate and make the hole bigger.

Can this be used with the Mr Heater Maxx 80K btu heater?

can you vent this tankless in you furnace exhaust

I have  an oil furnace  so that wasn’t allowed to mix …instructions indicated must be separate direct vent exhaust on my tankless model so if you have a furnace running the same fuel you probably have to have a larger straight up chimney so it wouldn’t be worth changing all over so most cases NO to having attaching exhaust system

Is there any particular reason this kit includes a category 2 adapter and not a category 3 ? The rest of the pieces are for category 3. Was the incorrect adapter included?

What is the length of the 4"horizontal Z Flex kit?

Total length from where the hot water heater is mounted is approximately 14-16 inches horizontal because mine is spaced out from the inside wall because it is combustible so if it were a non combustible wall I would be 6 inches shorter so that’s about just enough length the kit came with to work any longer horizontal length then you need a drain condensation  pipe if you  to increase your horizontal length which is not included
