Rated 5 out of 5 by from strong, easy to use I'm using this to put up heavier blackout curtains (52" x 84") for an open-concept condo office to create some privacy at times. The young guy at the store wasn't optimistic this would hold the curtains (both he and I have had negative experiences with tensions rods before) but I gave it a shot. It said it supports 30 pounds and while the two curtains are far less than that, they're still heavy. I've had tension rods in the past fall constantly with curtains. This looks strong and sturdy. It's only hour one so I hope it doesn't slip in the days to come but I don't think it will. If you need a strong tension rod, I think this works.

We already had a shower curtain but wanted a place in winter to hang up hand washing without it looking ugly in the bathroom. So installed this rod over the tub, close to the back wall & above the height of the shower tiles. Put shower curtain hooks & use them to hang small items (face masks, knee braces, scarves & mitts) We even washed a very heavy tablecloth & suspended it there to drip dry. Close the front shower curtain & nobody can see laundry when they use the bathroom - perfect.

Does the tension work well over ceramic tiles. I have been having trouble finding a tension rod that doesn’t slip off because my tiles are shiny and smooth. I need somthing with a rough grip that will grab and hold.

Your Rod will need to be extended to the proper length for the tension to be effective regardless of your base. will this work with one wall being drywall?
